Naugatuck police recently filed the following charges:

Peter Martonick, 19, of 18 Baldwin St., Naugatuck, was charged June 14 with three counts of second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on June 14 the accused was arrested on an active failure to appear (PRAWN) arrest warrants. The accused was held on surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 14.

Okina Taylor, 23, of 933 Rubber Ave. Apt. 7C, Naugatuck, was charged June 14 with second-degree assault and disorderly conduct.

Police reported on June 14 at approximately 11:45 a.m. officers responded to a report of a domestic dispute. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that the accused became involved in an argument with the victim that escalated and became physical when, according to the victim, the accused threw a ceramic mug at the victim, causing minor injuries. The accused was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 17.

Ryan Williams, 23, of 52 Oak St., Waterbury, was charged June 14 with second-degree false incident report, interfering with an officer/resisting and disorderly conduct.

Police reported on June 14 at approximately 11:45 a.m. officers responded to a report of a domestic dispute. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that the accused became involved in an argument with the victim that escalated and became physical. Police reported the accused also interfered with the investigation by giving false information to officers. The accused was released on a $5,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 17.

Gustavo Adolfo Arroyave-Escudero, 26, of 535 Millville Ave., Naugatuck, was charged June 15 with third-degree assault, third-degree strangulation and disorderly conduct.

Police reported on June 15 at approximately 2:55 p.m. officers responded to a residence on a report of a domestic dispute. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that the accused became involved in an argument with the victim that escalated and became physical when, according to the victim, the accused struck the victim several times and at one point the accused strangled the victim. The accused was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 17.

Stephen Mackin, 59, of 125 School St., Naugatuck, was charged June 15 with conspiracy to commit illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence (2nd offense).

No information was included in the reports submitted by the Naugatuck Police Department.

Ruth G. Pinto, 40, of 163 High Ridge Road, Naugatuck, was charged June 16 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on June 16 at approximately 7:41 p.m. officers responded to a report of a domestic dispute. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that the accused became involved in an argument with the victim that escalated and became physical when, according to the victim, the accused threw items at the victim several times. The accused was released on a $500 surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 17.

Jason Alexander Cornwall, 34, of 151 Andrew Ave. Apt. 274, Naugatuck, was charged June 16 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under suspension and illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs.

Police reported on June 16 at approximately 9:42 p.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of Lewis Street and Scott Street. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and or drugs, with a suspended license, and while traveling unreasonably fast. The accused was released on a $1,500 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 26.

Jay Elijah Outlaw, 30, of 322 East 19th St., Patterson, N.J., was charged June 18 with first-degree sexual assault, first-degree unlawful restraint and disorderly conduct.

Police reported on June 3 an adult female victim contacted police from Waterbury and reported she had been sexually assaulted at the Naugatuck Motor Lodge located at 732 New Haven Road in Naugatuck. Through a subsequent investigation conducted by Naugatuck detectives, police reported, it was learned that the victim had met the accused before being assaulted in his room at the Naugatuck Motor Lodge. The accused was arrested for the aforementioned charges at Waterbury Superior Court and turned over to the court for arraignment.

Robin A. Commodore, 50, of 617 Millville Ave. Apt. 8-1, Naugatuck, was charged June 18 with disorderly conduct, third-degree criminal mischief and third-degree assault.

Police reported on June 18 at approximately 1:51 p.m. officers responded to a residence on a report of a domestic dispute. Police reported the accused became involved in an argument with the victim that escalated and became physical. The accused was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 19.

Stephanie Amber Metevier, 24, of 85 New Haven Ave. Apt. 5, Milford, was charged June 19 with second-degree failure to appear, first-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit first-degree larceny, first-degree identify theft, conspiracy to commit first-degree identity theft, third-degree forgery, conspiracy to commit third-degree forgery, third-degree burglary and conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary.

Police reported on June 19 officers were dispatched to the Milford Police Department to pick up the accused on an active arrest warrant out of Naugatuck. The warrant stemmed from an identity theft incident that was reported on Oct. 1, 2018. There were also burglary, larceny, and forgery charges associated with this incident that the accused was charged with also, police reported. Officers also arrested the accused on an active failure to appear (PRAWN) arrest warrant. The accused was released on Bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on July 2.

David Michael Murray, 32, of 54 East Ramsdell St., New Haven, was charged June 19 with third-degree criminal trespass.

Police reported on June 19 officers arrested the accused on an active arrest warrant. The accused was released on a promise to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on July 3.

Anthony Diorio, 32, of 123 Greenmount Terrace, Waterbury, was charged June 19 with engaging police in pursuit and evading responsibility-property damage/injury. Diorio was charged June 20 with violation of probation.

Police reported on June 19 officers arrested the accused on an arrest warrant. The accused was released on a $2,500 surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on July 3.

Police reported on June 20 officers arrested the accused on a probation violation arrest warrant. The accused was released on a $20,000 surety bond to appear in Torrington Superior Court on July 1.

Paul Offley, 50, of 162 Carriage Drive, Waterbury, was charged June 20 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs and evading responsibility-property damage/injury.

Police reported on June 20 an officer responded to Field Street for an erratic driver that struck a guard rail and tree. Police reported officers located the described vehicle and conducted a stop. Upon interviewing the operator, police reported, it was determined the accused was impaired. The accused was released a $500 surety bond and given a court date of July 11 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court.

Robert Scavone Jr., 30, of 409 Rubber Ave., Naugatuck, was charged June 20 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs and evading responsibility-property damage/injury.

Police reported on June 20 at approximately 4:25 p.m. officers responded to Neagle Street for a roll over motor vehicle accident where the operator fled on foot prior to police arrival. Police reported the accused struck a vehicle parked in the road. Officer Kosky conducted a track with his K-9 Vane, which led to the apprehension of the accused, which was also the vehicle owner, police reported. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined the accused was operating under the influence of alcohol. The accused was released on a $5,000 surety bond and given a court date of July 11 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court.

Natalie Christi Garcia, 23, was charged June 21 with illegal operation of motor vehicle without insurance.

Police reported on June 21 at approximately 10:25 p.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in front of 1182 New Haven Road. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be operating a motor vehicle without minimum insurance. The accused was given a court date of July 11 to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on a promise to appear.

Andre D. Henderson, 25, of 10 Wood St. Apt. 1, Waterbury, was charged June 22 with two counts of second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on June 22 the accused was arrested on active failure to appear arrest warrants. The accused was held on surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 24.

Sali Vargas, 31, of 2180 Main St. Apt. 1, Bridgeport, was charged June 22 with second-degree identity theft, four counts of illegal use of payment card, four counts of third-degree identity theft, two counts of third-degree larceny, fourth-degree larceny and fifth-degree larceny.

Police reported on June 22 the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was from an identity theft incident that was reported to Naugatuck police on March 3, 2019 in which the accused used the victim’s credit card illegally, police reported. The accused was released on a $10,000 surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on July 3.

Travares Jamale Cotton, 31, of 87 Norton St., New Haven, was charged June 22 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on June 22 at approximately 4 a.m. officers responded to a residence for a domestic disturbance between male and female adults. During the incident, police reported, both sides stated they became involved in an argument that turned physical. The victim stated that the accused spit on her and grabbed her by the hair, police reported. Officers also determined that the incident occurred with a small child present. The accused was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 24.

James Gearhart, 58, of 1081 New Haven Road Apt. 11J, Naugatuck, was charged June 22 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs.

Police reported on June 22 at approximately 3:38 p.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of 571 New Haven Road. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be traveling unreasonably fast while operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and or drugs in which he failed to keep right. The accused was released on a $1,500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on July 11.

Carlos Filipe P. Pascoal, 35, of 560 Church St., Naugatuck, was charged June 23 with use of motor vehicle without permission and illegal operation of motor vehicle under suspension.

Police reported on June 22 at approximately 11:22 p.m. the victim filed a complaint with stating that her vehicle was taken without permission by the accused. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was also found to be operating that same motor vehicle with a suspended license. The accused was stopped in Waterbury and picked up by the Naugatuck Police Department. The accused was on a $2,500 surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 24.

Kayla Green, 25, of 570 Main St. Apt. 2, Naugatuck, was charged June 23 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on June 23 at approximately 12:58 a.m. officers responded to a report of a domestic dispute. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that the accused became involved in an argument with the victim that escalated and became physical when, according to the victim, the accused struck the victim several times. The accused was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 24.

Ronald Aviz, 55, of 48 Goodyear Ave., Naugatuck, was charged June 23 with sixth-degree larceny, disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police reported on June 23 at approximately 9:16 a.m. officers responded to a residence on a report of a domestic dispute. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that the accused became involved in an argument with the victim over money that escalated and became physical. Police reported the accused also stole money from the victim and was in possession of drug paraphernalia. The accused was released on a $1,500 surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 24.

Richard Ernest Gamble, 58, of 195 Allentown Road, Wolcott, was charged June 24 with possession of controlled substance or more than half ounce of cannabis and illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs.

Police reported on June 24 at approximately 5:57 p.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of 72 Bridge St. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and or drugs while in possession of a controlled substance. The accused was held on a $2,500 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court at a later date.

Matthew John Bernazal, 40, of 339 Division St. Apt. 2, Bristol, was charged June 25 with illegal possession of shoplifting device, sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on June 25 the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was from a shoplifting incident that occurred from Wal-Mart on May 6, 2019. Police report the accused found to be in possession of over $300 of stolen external hard drives during a traffic stop conducted by Plymouth Police. The accused was released on a $2,500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on July 3.

James Skaarva, 59, of 1070 Amity Road Apt. 52, Bethany, was charged June 25 with possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs.

Police reported on June 25 an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation of an unregistered vehicle on New Haven Road near Wal-Mart. During the investigation, police reported, the accused was determined to be driving while impaired and was also found to be in possession drug paraphernalia. The accused was released on a $1,000 surety bond and given a court date of June 26 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court.
