Naugatuck police recently filed the following charges:

Peter Yurchyk, 60, of 492 Chipman St., Waterbury, was charged May 20 with second-degree harassment and second-degree violation of conditions of release.

Police reported on May 20 the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was from a harassment incident that was reported to Naugatuck police on May 6, 2019 in which the accused harassed the victim in violation of a standing conditions of release, police reported. The accused was released on a $1,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on May 29.

Christine Dmuchowski, 58, of 53 Conrad St. Apt. 13C, Naugatuck, was charged May 20 with driving under the influence and evading responsibility.

Police reported on May 20 at approximately 10:16 p.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of 115 Bridge St. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be operating her motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Police reported on May 20 at approximately 10:14 p.m. an officer was investigating an evading motor vehicle accident in the area of 29 City Brook
Road. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, it was found that the accused was arrested a few minutes prior by another officer for operating her motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. It was noted at the scene that the accused vehicle had recently been in a motor vehicle accident. The officer found that the damage to his victim’s vehicle matched the damage to the accused vehicle, police reported. The accused was released on bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on May 30.

Marielisa Estrada, 43, of 23 Shirley St. Apt. 3, Waterbury, was charged May 21 with driving under the influence.

Police reported on May 21 at approximately 9:57 a.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of 138 Lantern Park Drive. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be operating her motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. The accused was released on a $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on May 30.

Michael Matthew Jenkins, 43, of 30 Hart Circle Apt. 6, Waterbury, was charged May 24 with violation of protective order, two counts of second-degree failure to appear and two counts of first-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on May 24 at approximately 1:45 p.m. officers responded to residence on a report of a protective order violation. Police reported officers were tipped off by a caller that the accused was in violation of a protective order and was currently in the residence. Officers made contact with the accused who was found to be in violation of a standing protective order by being at the residence, police reported. Police reported the accused was also arrested on actives failure to appear (PRAWN) arrest warrants. The accused was held on bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on May 28.

Angel A. Sanchez, 30, of 300 Schraffts Drive A 102, Waterbury, was charged May 24 with driving under the influence, evading responsibility and illegal operation of motor vehicle under suspension.

Police reported on May 24 at approximately 10:10 p.m. an officer was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident in the area of 1221 New Haven Road. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be operating under the influence of alcohol and or drugs. The accused was also found to be operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license while driving recklessly, and evading a motor vehicle accident, police reported. The accused was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and given a court date of June 12 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court.

Yesenia Vazquez, 43, of 298 Hillside Ave., Naugatuck, was charged May 25 with driving under the influence.

Police reported on May 25 at approximately 12:39 a.m. Naugatuck police initiated a motor vehicle investigation in front of 251 Church St. During the stop, police reported, the accused was observed to be operating under the influence of alcohol and /or drugs while failing to use a turn signal. The accused was given a court date of June 5 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.

Jason H. Wermuth, 26, of 597 Millville Ave. Apt. 6-1, Naugatuck, was charged May 25 with third-degree assault, interfering with an emergency call, second-degree criminal mischief, second-degree unlawful restraint and disorderly conduct.

Police reported on May 25 at approximately 6:04 p.m. officers responded to a report of a domestic dispute. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that the accused became involved in an argument with the victim that escalated and became physical when, according to the victim, the accused struck and head butted the victim several times. The accused wouldn’t allow the victim to leave, police reported, also smashed the victim’s cellphone to stop her from calling for help. The accused was scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on May 28.

Claire F. Sardinskas, 54, of 341 Allerton Farms, Naugatuck, was charged May 25 with two counts of violation of probation.

Police reported on May 25 the accused was arrested on probation violations. The accused released to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on June 5.

Patrick A. Benner, 37, of 827 Oronoke Road Apt. 1-7, Waterbury, was charged May 26 with third-degree assault, disorderly conduct and risk of injury to child.

Police reported on May 26 at approximately 4:03 p.m. officers responded to a report of a domestic dispute. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that the accused became involved in an argument with the victim that escalated and became physical when, according to the victim, the accused grabbed the victim several times forcefully causing minor injuries. The accused was held on a $25,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on May 28.

Jacqueline Figueroa, 39, of 54 Greenwood St., Naugatuck, was charged May 26 with interfering with an officer/resisting, illegal operation of motor vehicle under suspension and two counts of second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on May 26 at approximately 7:08 p.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in front of 54 Greenwood St. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, and that the accused had multiple warrants. Police reported the accused resisted arrest while on scene and had to be pepper sprayed. The accused was released on bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 5.

David Tooth, 32, of 20 Gail Drive, Naugatuck, was charged May 27 with driving under the influence.

Police reported on May 27 at approximately 1:10 a.m. Naugatuck police initiated a motor vehicle investigation on Maple Street and Water Street. During the stop, police reported, the accused was observed to be operating under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs while traveling unreasonably fast. The accused was given a court date of June 6 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $2,500 non-surety bond.

David T. Giambra, 28, of 143 Pine Hill Road, Thomaston, was charged May 27 with second-degree breach of peace.

Police reported on May 27 at approximately 6:22 p.m. the Naugatuck Police Department was dispatched to South Circle and Brookside Avenue on a report of an assault between two adult males. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined that the accused assaulted the victim by punching him multiple times. Police reported the accused choked the victim while throwing the victim to the ground. The accused was released on a $500 non-surety bond and was scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 5.

Devin Patrick Rager, 19, 933 Rubber Ave. Apt. 4D, Naugatuck, was charged May 28 with failure to respond to payable violation.

Police reported on May 28 the accused was arrested on an active failure to respond to an infraction arrest warrant. The accused was released on a $150 cash bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 5.

James Anthony Salemme, 26, of 30 Martha St., Seymour, was charged May 28 with second-degree failure to appear, criminal attempt at sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police reported on May 28 at approximately 4:20 p.m. officers were dispatched to Big Y Supermarket located at 85 Bridge St. on a report of a shoplifting from the store. Police reported loss prevention advised that they observed the accused conceal items totaling less than $500 and exit the store without paying for items. Police reported the accused was also found in possession of drug paraphernalia and arrested on an active failure to appear arrest warrant. The accused was held on bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on May 29.

Terri Peabody, 50, of 30 Martha St., Seymour, was charged May 28 with two counts of criminal attempt at sixth-degree larceny, two counts of conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit third-degree criminal trespass and conspiracy to commit possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police reported on May 28 at approximately 4:20 p.m. officers were dispatched to Big Y Supermarket located at 85 Bridge St. on a report of a shoplifting from the store. Police reported loss prevention advised that they observed the accused conceal items totaling less than $500 and exit the store without paying for items. Police reported the accused was also found in possession of drug paraphernalia. The accused was held on a $500 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on May 29.

Police reported on May 28 the accused was also arrested on an active arrest warrant stemming from a larceny incident that occurred on Dec. 25, 2018. The accused was held on a $1,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on May 29.

Shelli Chadwick, 51, of 309 Meadow St., Shelton, was charged May 28 with criminal attempt at sixth-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police reported on May 28 at approximately 4:20 p.m. officers were dispatched to Big Y Supermarket located at 85 Bridge St. on a report of a shoplifting from the store. Police reported the accused was also found in possession of drug paraphernalia and arrested on an active failure to appear arrest warrant. Victor Acero Montero, 47, of 112 High St., Shelton, was charged May 29 with driving under the influence and interfering with an officer/resisting.

Police reported on May 29 at approximately 2:51 a.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of 801 Rubber Ave. in the 7-11 parking area. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be operating under the influence of alcohol, and resisted/interfered with the officer’s investigation. The accused was released on a $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 6.

Matthew Miner, 26, of 215 Scott St., Naugatuck, was charged May 31 with risk of injury to child, disorderly conduct and violation of protective order.

Police reported on May 31 at approximately 1:52 a.m. officers responded to a report of a domestic dispute. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that the accused was intoxicated. Police reported the accused became involved in an argument with the victim that escalated and became physical when, according to the victim, the accused pushed the victim against the wall in the bedroom. The accused was held on a $1,500 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on May 31.

Police reported on May 31 at approximately 4:59 p.m. officers responded to a residence on a violation of a protective order complaint. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that the accused was in violation of a standing protective order by going to the residence of the protected person. The accused was held on a $10,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 3.

Kimberly Palangio, 51, of 334 Willow St., Waterbury, was charged May 31 with first-degree failure to appear and two counts of violation of probation.

Police reported on May 31 the accused was arrested on probation violations and on an active failure to appear (PRAWN) arrest warrant. The accused was held on bond and scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on May 31.

Lisa Lawton, 59, of 264 Spencer St., Naugatuck, was charged May 31 with second-degree breach of peace.

Police reported on May 31 at approximately 3:56 p.m. officers responded to 264 Spencer St. on a report of a tenant/landlord dispute. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that the accused was intoxicated. Police reported the accused became involved in an argument with the victim that escalated and became physical when, according to the victim, the accused spit on the victim. The accused was released on a $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 19.

Marisha Malikh Evans, 46, of 304 Harker Ave., Waterbury, was charged May 31 with second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on May 31 the accused was arrested on an active failure to appear (PRAWN) arrest warrant. The accused was released on a $500 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Derby Superior Court on June 19.

Denise Butler, 58, of 20 Jason Court, Naugatuck, was charged May 31 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on May 31 officers were dispatched to Walmart located, 1100 New Haven Road, on a report of a shoplifting from the store. Police reported loss prevention advised that they observed the accused conceal items totaling over $69.64 and exit the store without paying for items. The accused was released on a promise to appear and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 19.

Eric Maldonado, 38, of 169 Bluebird Drive, Naugatuck, was charged June 1 with driving under the influence.

Police reported on June 1 at approximately 12:37 a.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of 620 North Church St. Police reported the accused was observed traveling at a high rate of speed. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be operating under the influence of alcohol. The accused was given a court date of June 20 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.

Gregory Alexander Doms, 24, of 282 Morning Dove Road, Naugatuck, was charged June 1 with driving under the influence.

Police reported on June 1 at approximately 1:01 a.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in front of 1059 New Haven Road. Police reported the accused was observed failing to drive in the proper lane. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be operating under the influence of alcohol and or drugs. The accused was given a court date of June 20 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and was released on a $500 non-surety bond.

Dajuan A. Crudup, 35, of 243 Columbus Ave., New Haven, was charged June 1 with second-degree failure to appear, first-degree failure to appear and interfering with an officer/resisting.

Police reported on June 1 officers were dispatched to Ion Bank, 727 Rubber Ave., for a report of a male party trying to cash fraudulent checks. Police reported the accused refused to talk to officers and tried to flee the scene. Police reported the accused was later arrested for interfering with an investigation and two other failure to appear arrest warrants. The bad check investigation is ongoing. The accused was held on bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 3.

Jade M. Dossous, 44, of 52 Cheshire Road Floor 1, Prospect, was charged May 21 with disorderly conduct and third-degree assault.

Edward A. Martin, 55, of 21 Arlene Court, Beacon Falls, was charged May 26 with disorderly conduct and third-degree criminal mischief.

Ruben Rivera, 27, of 821 Noble Ave., Bridgeport, was charged June 2 with violation of protective order.

Caroline Cruz, 40, of 8 Ansonia St., Derby, was charged June 2 with second-degree failure to appear.
