Naugatuck police recently filed the following charges:

Andrew R. Mendillo, 42, of 35 Pond St. apt. 11, Waterbury, was charged April 29 with risk of injury to child, possession with intent to sell, illegal distribution of a controlled substance near school, public housing or day care center, possession of controlled substance, non-student in possession of drugs near a school, possession of drug paraphernalia, and nonstudent possession of drug paraphernalia near a school.

Police reported on April 29 the accused was processed and later released on the listed charges, and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on May 8.

Catherine Cuccuru, 29, of 35 Pond St. Apt. U1, Waterbury, was charged April 29 with risk of injury to a child, sale of certain illegal drugs, illegal distribution of a controlled substance near school, public housing or day care center, possession of drug paraphernalia, nonstudent possession of drug paraphernalia near a school, possession of a controlled substance and nonstudent possession of drugs near a school.

Police reported on April 29 the accused was processed and later released on the listed charges, and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on May 8.

Gregg L. Wallace, 24, of 3 Buritt Place, Naugatuck, was charged April 30 with second-degree burglary, fourth-degree larceny, second-degree conspiracy to commit burglary and fourth-degree conspiracy to commit larceny.

Police reported on April 30 the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrant at Waterbury Superior Court. Police reported the warrant was from an incident where the accused was involved in a burglary and took multiple items from a residence with an accomplice on Sept. 30, 2018. The accused was held on a $10,000 surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on April 30.

John J. Laires, 63, of 319 Bradley Ave., Waterbury, was charged April 30 with second-degree identity theft, sixth-degree larceny, credit card theft and illegal use of payment card.

Police reported on April 30 the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrant. The warrant stemmed from an identity theft incident with a stolen credit card that occurred on Dec. 24, 2018. The accused was released on a $10,000 surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on May 15.

Sean Montgomery Hepson, 22, of 110 Midwood Ave., Waterbury, was charged April 30 with sixth-degree larceny and interference with an officer/resisting.

Police reported on April 30 officers were dispatched to Walmart, 1100 New Haven Road, on a report of a shoplifting from the store. Police reported loss prevention advised that they observed the accused conceal over $50 worth of merchandise and exit the store without paying for items. The accused was released on $500 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on May 18.

Cindy Alejandra Guevara, 20, of 1652 Meriden Road 23, Waterbury, was charged April 30 with sixth-degree larceny and interference with an officer/resisting.

Police reported on April 30 officers were dispatched to Walmart, 1100 New Haven Road, on a report of a shoplifting from the store. Police reported loss prevention advised that they observed the accused illegally conceal over $50 worth of merchandise and exit the store without paying for items. The accused was released on $500 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on May 18.

David Soderberg, 38, of 37 Golden Hill St., Naugatuck, was charged April 30 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on April 30 at approximately 8:18 p.m. officers responded to a residence on a report of a domestic dispute. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that the accused was intoxicated. Police reported the accused became involved in an argument with the victim that escalated and became physical when, according to the victim, the accused slapped the victim in the face. The accused was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on May 1.

Luis Angel Pumarejo, 51, of 933 Rubber Ave. Apt. 70, Naugatuck, was charged May 1 with possession of a controlled substance and second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on May 1 at approximately 4:14 an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of Old Firehouse Road and Maple Street. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be in possession of a controlled substance. Police reported the accused was also arrested on an active failure to appear (PRAWN) arrest warrant. The accused was released on bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on May 15.

Michael Boyette, 25, of 636 Washington Ave., Waterbury, was charged May 2 with engaging police in pursuit, reckless driving and illegal driving under suspension.

Police reported on May 2 the accused was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant stemming from a motor vehicle incident that occurred on April 7, 2019. The accused was released on a $5,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on May 16.

Katie Marie Bosko, 34, of 669 Waterville St. Apt. 307, Waterbury, was charged May 2 with second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on May 2 at approximately 1:48 p.m. the accused was arrested on an active PRAWN warrant for failure to appear in court. The accused was given a court date of May 15 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $5,000 surety bond.

Daniel Akinsanya, 29, of 38 Highland Ave., Naugatuck, was charged May 2 with third-degree assault, third-degree criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and second-degree criminal attempt/assault.

Police reported on May 2 the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrant at Waterbury Superior Court. Police reported the warrant was from a domestic incident where the accused assaulted the victim. The accused was held to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on May 2.

Jonas Diggs, 36, of 1847 North Main St. Apt. D, Waterbury, was charged May 2 with possession of a controlled substance.

Police reported on May 2 at approximately 12:45 p.m. an officer were dispatched to the Comfort Inn located at 716 New Haven Road for an unknown complaint. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be in possession of a controlled substance. The accused was released on a $1,500 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on May 15.

Jose Antonio Perez, 39, of 81 Great Hill Road, East Hartford, was charged May 2 with violation of probation.

Police reported on May 2 the accused was arrested on a probation violation. The accused was held on a $50,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on May 3.

Kelly Frances Veach, 23, was charged May 3 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on May 3 officers responded to a domestic disturbance between family members. During the incident, police reported, both subjects stated they became involved in a verbal argument that turned physical when the accused subject push the victim. The accused was released on a $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on May 3.

Peter Martonick, 50, of 18 Baldwin St., Naugatuck, was charged May 3 with six counts of second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on May 3 the accused was arrested on active failure to appear (PRAWN) arrest warrants. The accused was held on bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on May 3.

James Herman Person, 46, of 14 Roland St., Waterbury, was charged May 3 with two counts of second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on May 3 the accused was arrested on active failure to appear (PRAWN) arrest warrants. The accused was released on surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on May 15.

David Rios, 29, of 479 University Ave., Bridgeport, was charged May 3 with failure to respond to payable violation.

Police reported on May 3 the accused was arrested on an active failure to appear arrest warrant. The accused was released on a $150 cash bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on May 15.

Jay D. Diggetts, 56, of 475 South Lenord St., Naugatuck, was charged May 3 with second-degree failure to appear, reckless driving, engaging police in pursuit and illegal operation of motor vehicle under suspension.

Police reported on May 3 the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrants. Police reported one warrant was from an incident where the accused engaged officers in pursuit along with other charges on April 19, 2018. Police reported the accused was also arrested on an active failure to appear (PRAWN) arrest warrant. The accused was released on surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on May 15.

Trevor P. Etkin, 22, of 19 Ralph Road, Bethany, was charged May 3 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under suspension and possession of controlled substance.

Police reported on May 3 at approximately 6:20 p.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of Clark Road. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be in possession of a controlled substance and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. The accused was released on a $5,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on May 15.

Michelle L. Bayley, 36, of 120 Elgar Place, Bronx, N.Y., was charged May 4 with interfering with an emergency call and disorderly conduct.

Police reported on May 4 at approximately 1:46 a.m. officers responded to a residence on a report of a domestic dispute. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that the accused became involved in an argument with the victim that escalated and became physical when, according to the victim, the accused grabbed the victim’s cell phone from her hand forcefully to stop the 911 call. The accused was released on $2,500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on May 6.

Clarissa Paige Bartimole-Salg, 23, of 55 Porter Ave. Apt. 1A, Naugatuck, was charged May 4 with interfering with an officer/resisting and two counts first-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on May 4 officers responded to a domestic disturbance between family members. During the incident, police reported, the accused refused to cooperate with the officers on scene by failing to give her information to conceal two arrest warrants. The accused was held on surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on May 6.

Tanzika Webb, 32, of 629 Washington Ave., Bridgeport, was charged May 4 with sixth-degree conspiracy to commit larceny and sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on May 4 officers were dispatched to Walmart, 1100 New Haven Road, on a report of a shoplifting from the store. Police reported loss prevention advised that they observed the accused illegally conceal $447.29 worth of merchandise and exit the store without paying for items. The accused was released on $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on May 15.

Briana Cooper, 24, of 31 Vermont St., Waterbury, was charged May 4 with sixth-degree conspiracy to commit larceny and sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on May 4 officers were dispatched to Walmart, 1100 New Haven Road, on a report of a shoplifting from the store. Police reported loss prevention advised that they observed the accused illegally conceal $447.29 worth of merchandise and exit the store without paying for items. The accused was released on $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on May 15.

Richard Groben, 37, of 1053 Main St., Woodbury, was charged May 5 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on May 5 officers were dispatched to Walmart, 1100 New Haven Road, on a report of a shoplifting from the store. Police reported loss prevention advised that they observed the accused conceal items totaling over $179.98 and exit the store without paying for items. The accused was released on a $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on May 22.

Matthew Demers, 33, of 70 Olive St. Apt. 3, Naugatuck, was charged May 5 with second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on May 5 the accused was arrested on an active failure to appear (PRAWN) arrest warrant. The accused was released on a $500 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Middletown Superior Court on May 15.
