Naugatuck police recently filed the following charges:

Brandon Rosa, 23, of 43 West View Drive, Enfield, was charged April 10 with violation of probation, second-degree breach of peace and interfering with an officer.

Police reported on April 10 at approximately 3:35 p.m. officers responded to the downtown area on a report of a domestic dispute. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that the accused became involved in an argument with the victim. The incident escalated, according to witnesses, when the accused struck the victim several times, police reported. Several officers were engaged in an active foot pursuit for the apprehension of the accused due to the accused fleeing the scene when officers arrived, police reported. Police reported the accused was also arrested on a probation violation. The accused was held on surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on April 11.

Alexandro Soares-Magalhaes, 35, of 68 Merrimac St., Danbury, was charged April 10 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under suspension.

Police reported on April 10 at approximately 7:29 p.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of 211 Spring St. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. The accused was given a court date of April 24 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a promise to appear.

Noelma Chaves-Couto, 39, of 107 Walnut St., Naugatuck, was charged April 10 with disorderly conduct, third-degree assault and risk of injury of child.

Police reported on April 10 at approximately 8:37 p.m. officers responded to a residence for a domestic disturbance. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that the accused was intoxicated. During the incident, police reported, the victim stated she was grabbed by the hair and punched by the accused in the head. The accused was held on a $5,000 surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on April 11.

Joseph Yurksaitis, 50, of 35 Johnson St., Naugatuck, was charged April 11 with second-degree failure to appear, interfering with an officer and simple trespass.

Police reported on April 11 the accused was arrested for trespassing on the Friendly’s property at 130 Rubber Ave. at approximately 2:56 a.m. The accused did not furnish the proper identifying information at the time of arrest, which interfered with the officer’s investigation, police reported. Police reported the accused was also arrested on an active failure to appear arrest warrant. The accused was held on bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on April 11.

Javon Silva, 36, of 12 Carroll St., Naugatuck, was charged April 11 with second-degree criminal trespass.

Police reported on April 11 at approximately 1:38 p.m. officers were dispatched to 114 Curtiss St. for a deceased person complaint. During the officer’s investigation, police reported the accused was found to be not allowed on the property. The accused was released on promise to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on April 24.

Laman Perry, 40, of 32 Clark Road, Naugatuck, was charged April 11 with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct.

Police reported on April 11 at approximately 4:04 p.m. officers responded to 32 Clark Road for an out-of-control male at the residence. During the officer’s investigation, police reported the accused was found to have struck his staff at the group home multiple times. It was also found that the staff member was pregnant and the accused was aware of that during the assault, police reported. The accused was held on a $25,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on April 12.

Eric Robert Santos, 29, homeless, was charged April 12 with violation of probation and four counts of second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on April 12 the accused was arrested on active arrest warrants. The accused held on bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on April 15.

Brian Lavertue, 34, of 74 Cliff St., Naugatuck, was charged April 13 with failure to respond to payable violation.

Police reported on April 13 the accused was arrested on an active failure to appear (PRAWN) arrest warrant. The accused was released on a $400 cash bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on April 24.

Raymond Lee Williams, 19, of 671 High St., Naugatuck, was charged April 13 with illegal possession of weapon in motor vehicle, stealing firearm, violation of pistol permit requirements, criminal possession of pistol/revolver, risk of injury to child, violation of protective order and illegal delivery of liquor to minor.

Hypatia Nadia Areizaga, 19, of 191 Aetna St., Naugatuck, was charged April 13 with illegal sale/delivery of liquor to minor, risk on injury to child and permit minor to possess alcohol.

Joseph Tramontano, 74, of 43 Oakcrest Road, Oxford, was charged April 14 with driving under the influence and carrying a dangerous weapon.

Police reported on April 14 at approximately 1:09 a.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of Cherry Street and Rubber Avenue.Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be in possession of a dangerous weapon, and failed to drive in the proper lane. Police reported the accused was also found to be operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and or drugs. The accused released on a $2,500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on May 2.

Robert Sarandrea, 33, of 106 Esther Ave., Waterbury, was charged April 11 with fourth-degree larceny.
