Naugatuck police recently filed the following charges:

Stacey R. Sender, 30, of 214 Skokorat Road, Beacon Falls, was charged Feb. 13 with two counts of second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Feb. 13 at approximately 12:19 a.m. Sender was arrested on active failure to appear arrest warrants after a motor vehicle stop. Sender was held on bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 13.

Kemar G. Smith, 30, of 246 Spring Dale Ave., Meriden, was charged Feb. 13 with second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Feb. 13 at approximately 5:30 a.m. Smith was arrested on an active failure to appear arrest warrant. Smith was held on a court-ordered $2,500 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 13.

Matthew P. Knott, 34, of 45 Grand St., Seymour, was charged Feb. 13 with two counts of second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Feb. 13 at approximately 7:14 a.m. Knott was arrested on an active failure to appear arrest warrant. Knott was held on bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 13.

William Higgins, 18, of 3 Carriage Drive, West Haven, was charged Feb. 13 with third-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny, first-degree criminal trespass, third-degree burglary and conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary.

Police reported on Feb. 13 Higgins was arrested on an active arrest warrant out of this town. Police reported the warrant stemmed from a shoplifting incident that occurred on Dec. 30, 2018 where officers were dispatched to Walmart, 1100 New Haven Road, on a report of a shoplifting. Police reported loss prevention advised that they observed Higgins illegally break into a locked area and conceal $5,317.00 worth of merchandise and exit the store through the fire door without paying for items. Higgins was released on $10,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 20.

Stephen Verity, 28, of 98 Wooster St., Shelton, was charged Feb. 13 with third-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny, third-degree burglary and conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary.

Police reported on Feb. 13 Verity was arrested on an active arrest warrant out of this town. Police reported the warrant stemmed from a shoplifting incident that occurred on Dec. 30, 2018 where officers were dispatched to Walmart, 1100 New Haven Road, on a report of a shoplifting. Erickson Amparo, 19, of 11 Maple Terrace, Naugatuck, was charged Feb. 14 with reckless driving, third-degree larceny, interfering with an officer, engaging police in pursuit and evading responsibility.

Police reported on Feb. 14 Amparo was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant stemming from an incident that occurred on Oct. 9, 2018 in which Amparo eluded police after they attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop. Amparo was held on bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 14.

William Bell, 39, of 7 Linden St., Naugatuck, was charged Feb. 15 with driving under the influence.

Police reported on Feb. 15 at approximately 6:23 p.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in front of 171 Union City Road. Police reported Bell was observed failing to drive in the proper lane. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, Bell was also found to be operating under the influence of alcohol and or drugs. Bell was given a court date of Feb. 27 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.

Brian Christopher McDonald, 33, of 44 Kasson Road, Bethlehem, was charged Feb. 15 with two counts of violation of probation.

Police reported on Feb. 15 McDonald was arrested on probation violations. McDonald was processed and scheduled to appear in Derby Superior Court on Feb. 27 and Milford Superior Court on Feb. 26.

Piotr Bien, 36, of 111 Mallane Lane, Naugatuck, was charged Feb. 15 with driving under the influence.

Police reported on Feb. 15 at approximately 6:23 p.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of North Church Street and Water Street. Police reported Bien was observed failing to drive in the proper lane. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, Bien was also found to be operating under the influence of alcohol and or drugs. Bien was given a court date of Feb. 28 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.

Shannon B. Crosby, 50, of 219 Howe Ave., Shelton, was charged Feb. 15 with violation of probation.

Police reported on Feb. 15 at approximately 11:23 p.m. officers responded to a residence on a report of a domestic dispute. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that Crosby was causing issues at the residence due to being intoxicated. It was also found that Crosby did not belong at the residence and that it was a violation of a standing protective order, police reported. Crosby was held and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 19.
Jessie Cruz, 41, of 360 High St., Naugatuck, was charged Feb. 16 with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Feb. 16 Cruz was arrested on an active arrest warrant. Police reported the warrant was from a domestic where Cruz became involved in an argument with the victim that escalated and became physical when, according to the victim, Cruz struck the victim. Cruz was held on a $5,000 surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court Feb. 16.

Gregg Dojnia, 30, of 94 Irving St., Naugatuck, was charged Feb. 16 with violation of protective order.

Police reported on Feb. 16 at approximately 5:25 a.m. officers responded to the area of High Street on a violation of a protective order complaint. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that Dojnia was in violation of a protective order by going by the residence of the protected person. Dojnia was released on a $1,500 surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 19.

Leon Lee Jenkins, 27, of 101 High St., Ansonia, was charged Feb. 16 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Feb. 16 officers responded to a domestic disturbance between family members. During the incident, police reported, both subjects stated they became involved in a verbal argument that turned physical when Jenkins subject struck the victim. Jenkins was released on $1,500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 19.

Melissa Ryan, 38, of 107 Beacon Valley Road, Beacon Falls, was charged Feb. 17 with second-degree failure to appear, and charged Feb. 18 with interfering with an officer.

Police reported on Feb. 17 Ryan was arrested on an active failure to appear arrest warrant. Ryan was released on a $1,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 27.

Police reported on Feb. 17 at approximately 11:32 p.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of 732 New Haven Road. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, Ryan was found to be in possession of marijuana and interfered with the officer’s investigation by giving the wrong name. Ryan was released on a $2,500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 27.

Anna Lewis, 36, of 320 Lakemere Drive, Southbury, was charged Feb. 17 with driving under the influence, third-degree assault, disorderly conduct and second-degree reckless endangerment.

Police reported on Feb. 17 at approximately 3:05 a.m. officers responded to the area of North Church Street on a report of a physical domestic dispute in a motor vehicle. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that Lewis was under the influence of alcohol and or drugs. Police reported Lewis became involved in an argument with the victim that escalated and became physical when, according to the victim, Lewis struck the victim using an ice scraper. Lewis was released on a $5,000 surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 19.

Jonathan Subh-Marcano, 22, of 380 Hitchcock Road, Waterbury, was charged Feb. 18 with first-degree violation of conditions of release.

Police reported on Feb. 18 Subh-Marcano was arrested on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was from a domestic incident that was reported to Naugatuck police on Jan. 22, 2019 in which Subh-Marcano violated a standing conditions of release, police reported. Subh-Marcano was released on a $1,500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 19.

Shane Grant McGivern, 29, of 70 Main St., Lakeville, was charged Feb. 19 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Feb. 19 at approximately 11:52 a.m. officers were dispatched to Big Y Supermarket located at 85 Bridge St. on a report of a shoplifting from the store. Police reported loss prevention advised that they observed McGivern conceal merchandise totaling $98.13 and exit the store without paying for items. McGivern was released on a $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 27.

Jason Steven Toro Tovar, 28, of 95 Spring St., Naugatuck, was charged Feb. 19 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Feb. 19 at approximately 6:23 p.m. officers responded to a residence on a report of a domestic dispute. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that Toro Tovar was intoxicated and became involved in an argument with the victim that escalated and almost became physical when, according to the victim, Toro Tovar tried to strike the victim. Toro Tovar was released on a $500 non-surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 20.

Troop I reported the following charges recently filed in Beacon Falls and Prospect:

Robert Sarandrea, 33, of 106 Esther Ave., Waterbury, was charged Feb. 13 with fifth-degree larceny.
