Naugatuck police recently filed the following charges:

James Fox, 23, of 23 Allan Lane, Mount Kisko, N.Y., was charged Oct. 24 with third-degree criminal mischief and second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Oct. 24 Fox was arrested on active arrest warrants. One warrant was for a criminal mischief complaint, which occurred on April 7, 2018. Police reported Fox was arrested earlier in the evening due to a disturbance at a local bar. While in custody he damaged NPD property by kicking a toilet and walls in the cell area, police reported. Fox was given a court date to appear at Waterbury Superior Court.

David Joseph Johnson, 30, of 32 Gus St., Naugatuck, was charged Oct. 24 with produce or prepare, controlled substances without a license, possession of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police reported on Oct. 24 at approximately 6:19 p.m. the Naugatuck Police Department executed a search warrant on Johnson’s home. During the course of the search, police reported, Johnson was found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Johnson was given a court date of Nov. 7 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $1,500 non-surety bond.

Roberto Vazquez, 36, of 236 Spencer St., Naugatuck, was charged Oct. 24 with interfering with an officer, possession of controlled substance, tapering with physical evidence and illegal obtaining or supplying of prescription legend drug.

Police reported on Oct. 24 at approximately 9:26 a.m. an officer responded to a suspicious person complaint on Candee Road. The officer located Vazquez in the area. During the investigation, police reported, Vazquez was found to be in possession of narcotics. Vazquez attempted to run from the officer and dispose of the narcotics, police reported. Vazquez was taken into custody and the narcotics were recovered. Vazquez was given a court date of Oct. 25 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $10,000 surety bond.

Melissa Sabre, 37, of 114 Candee Road, Naugatuck, was charged Oct. 24 with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Oct. 24 at approximately 1 p.m. Sabre was arrested on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for a domestic disturbance that occurred on Oct. 11, 2018. During an argument, police reported, Sabre grabbed the victim and pushed him. The victim sustained cuts to his arms, police reported. Sabre was given a court date of Oct. 25 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $1,000 non-surety bond.

Matthew P. Knott, 34, of 45 Grand St., Seymour, was charged Oct. 24 with fourth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Oct. 24 Knott turned himself in on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for a larceny reported on Sept. 18, 2018. Police reported Knott stole power tools from his former place of employment. Knott was given a court date of Nov. 7 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $5,000 non-surety bond.

Jonathan Robert Syman, 21, of 2 Harvest Lane, Naugatuck, was charged Oct. 25 with violation of protective order, third-degree assault, third-degree strangulation and disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Oct. 25 at approximately 1:39 a.m. an officer investigated a domestic disturbance. During an argument, police reported, Syman hit and grabbed the victim by her neck. The victim sustained minor injuries. Police reported Syman also violated an active protective order. Syman was given a court date of Oct. 25 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $50,000 surety bond.

Brenden Tyrell Benway, 21, of 539 Boyden St., Waterbury, was charged Oct. 25 with first-degree burglary, violation of protective order, disorderly conduct and interfering with an officer.

Police reported on Oct. 25 officers were dispatched to a domestic dispute in which the Benway pushed the victim and entered the victim’s residence without permission and locked himself in a room. Upon arrival of officers, police reported, Benway fled the home. Benway was located after a police K9 tracked him to a wooded area near the residence, police reported. Upon locating Benway, police reported, he initially resisted the K9 while being apprehended. Benway was arrested and held on bond. Upon arrest it was determined that Benway had violated a standing protective order by having contact with the victim, police reported. He was scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 26.

Tyjuan Reed, 21 of 1434 North Main St., Waterbury, was charged Oct. 26 with interfering with a police officer, second-degree breach of peace, first-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit first-degree larceny, possession of controlled substance and second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Oct. 26 at approximately 8:31 p.m. officers responded to Route 8 Exit 26 for a report of an assault. Upon the officers’ arrival, police reported, they located an unoccupied vehicle which was reported stolen out of Watertown. Reed and a woman, who were operating the vehicle, were found walking in the area. They were taken into custody. Reed was also arrested on an active arrest warrant. Reed was given a court date of Oct. 29 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on bond.

Maiya Zhane Goodman, 19, of 4 Warner Place, Waterbury, was charged Oct. 26 with second-degree breach of peace, first-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit first-degree larceny and second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Oct. 26 at approximately 8:31 p.m. officers responded to Route 8 Exit 26 for a report of an assault. Upon the officers’ arrival, police reported, they located an unoccupied vehicle which was reported stolen out of Watertown. Goodman and a man, who were operating the vehicle, were found walking in the area. They were taken into custody. Goodman was also arrested on an active arrest warrant. Goodman was given a court date of Nov. 7 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on bond.

George L. Colon, 39, of 290 High St., Naugatuck, was charged Oct. 26 with second-degree threatening and disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Oct. 26 at approximately 9 p.m. Colon was arrested on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for a domestic disturbance reported on Oct. 24, 2018. During an argument, police reported, Colon threatened to harm the victim. Colon was given a court date of Oct. 29 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $7,500 surety bond.

Susan Elizabeth Violette, 45, of 326 Sylvan Ave., Waterbury, was charged Oct. 26 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Oct. 26 at approximately 10:03 p.m. an officer responded to Walmart for a larceny complaint. Police reported Violette stole merchandise valued at $98.56. Violette was given a court date of Nov. 7 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a promise to appear.

Gloria Reyes, 47, of 47 Lavel St., Waterbury, was charged Oct. 27 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Oct. 27 at approximately 4 p.m. an officer responded to Walmart for a larceny complaint. Police reported Reyes stole food and cleaning supplies valued at $205.17. Reyes was given a court date of Nov. 7 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a promise to appear.

Anthony Justin Garcia, 21, of 863 Woodward Ave., New Haven, was charged Oct. 28 with violation of protective order and second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Oct. 28 at approximately 11 p.m. Garcia turned himself in on active arrest warrants. Garcia was given a court date of Nov. 7 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on bond.

Nestor Merlo, 36, of 85 Ridge Road, Naugatuck, was charged Oct. 28 with second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Oct. 28 at approximately 1 p.m. Merlo turned himself in on an active arrest warrant. Merlo was given a court date of Nov. 7 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a court-set $500 surety bond.

Arielle Amber Gonzalez, 29, of 133 Palomino Pass, Trumbull, was charged Oct. 28 with possession of controlled substance.

Police reported on Oct. 28 at approximately 4:41 p.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on New Haven Road. Gonzalez was identified as a passenger in the vehicle. During the investigation, police reported, Gonzalez was found to be in possession of marijuana. Gonzalez was given a court date of Nov. 7 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.

Jameel Norwood, 38, of 1085 South Main St., Waterbury, was charged Oct. 29 with interfering with an officer, reckless driving and engaging police in pursuit.

Police reported on Oct. 29 at approximately 12:50 a.m. Norwood turned himself in on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for a motor vehicle investigation on Aug. 9, 2018. Police reported an officer initiated a motor vehicle stop on South Main Street. When the officer approached the vehicle, police reported, Norwood accelerated away from the officer and refused to stop. Based on the investigation, Norwood was identified as the operator of the vehicle. Norwood was given a court date of Nov. 14 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a court-set $20,000 surety bond.

Gregg L. Wallace, 23, of 49 Anderson St., Naugatuck, was charged Oct. 29 with three counts of second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Oct. 29 at approximately 12:39 a.m. Wallace was arrested an active arrest warrants. Wallace was given a court date of Oct. 29 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on bond.

Brandon Omar Pryce, 26, of 58 Pond Road, Windsor, was charged Oct. 29 with risk of injury to child.

Lauren B. Kontout, 37, of 38 Gorman St., Naugatuck, was charged Oct. 29 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Oct. 29 at approximately 12:54 p.m. an officer responded to Walmart for a larceny complaint. Police reported Kontout was arrested on the above listed charge. Kontout was given a court date of Nov. 7 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.

Cheyanna Somers Blakeman, 25, of 653 Oxford Road, Oxford, was charged Oct. 29 with second-degree failure to appear, sixth-degree larceny and risk of injury to child.

Police reported on Oct. 29 at approximately 12:27 p.m. an officer responded to Walmart for a larceny complaint. Blakeman was arrested on the above listed charges. Blakeman was given a court date of Nov. 7 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on bond.

Alicia S. Thorne, 29, of 76 Avon Ave., Waterbury, was charged Oct. 29 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Oct. 29 at approximately 2:44 p.m. an officer responded to Walmart for a larceny complaint. Thorne was arrested on the above listed charge. Thorne was given a court date of Nov. 7 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.

Walid K. Omar, 31, of 105 Cedar Hollow Drive, Rocky Hill, was charged Oct. 29 with driving under the influence.

Police reported on Oct. 29 Omar turned himself in on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was a motor vehicle accident that occurred on July 25, 2018 at approximately 1:03 a.m. Based on the investigation, police reported, it was determined Omar was operating under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. Omar was given a court date of Nov. 7 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a
$500 non-surety bond.

Renee Levesque, 33, was charged Oct. 29 with two counts of second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Oct. 29 at approximately 7:15 p.m. Levesque was arrested an active arrest warrants. Levesque was given a court date of Oct. 30 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on bond.

Rachel Ann Chapman, 25, of 27 Treadwell Ave., Thomaston, was charged Oct 30 with driving under the influence.

Police reported on Oct. 30 at approximately 12:41 a.m. officers responded to a motor vehicle accident in the parking lot of Cumberland Farms on Rubber Avenue. Police reported Chapman struck a metal pole located in front of store. There were no injuries reported. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined Chapman was operating under the influence of alcohol. Chapman was given a court date of Oct. 30 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $3,500 surety bond.

Jeannette Burgos, 27, of 933 Rubber Ave., was charged Oct. 30 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Oct. 30 at approximately 12:45 p.m. Burgos was arrested on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for a domestic altercation that occurred in a parking lot. Burgos was given a court date of Oct. 31 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $1,000 non-surety bond.

Nathan D. Lord, 25, of 20 Washington St., Naugatuck, was charged Oct. 30 with driving under the influence and evading responsibility.

Police reported on Oct. 30 at approximately 8:50 p.m. officers responded to a motor vehicle accident. Police reported Lord struck a utility pole on Hillside Avenue and ran from the scene. Police reported Lord was located and it was determined he was operating under the influence of alcohol. Lord was given a court date of Nov. 8 to appear at Waterbury Superior and released on a $5,000 surety bond.
