Naugatuck police recently filed the following charges:

Ricky Beltran, 29, of 187 Bassett St., New Britain, was charged July 25 with two counts of violation of probation.

Police reported on July 25 at approximately 6:58 p.m. Beltran turned himself in on active arrest warrants. Beltran was given a court date of Aug. 8 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a surety bond.

Robert Lopez, 35, of 161 Nichols Drive, Waterbury, was charged July 26 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on July 26 at approximately 4:18 p.m. officers responded to Walmart for a larceny complaint. Police reported Lopez stole merchandise from the store. Lopez was given a court date of Aug. 9 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 surety bond.

Pamela Renee Brown, 50, of 20 Greenwood St., Naugatuck, was charged July 26 with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct.

Police reported on July 26 at approximately 5:15 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance between boyfriend and girlfriend. During an argument, police reported, they engaged in a physical altercation. Brown was given a court date of July 27 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.

Shawn P. Rodgers, 61, of 20 Greenwood St., Naugatuck, was charged July 26 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on July 26 at approximately 5:15 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance between boyfriend and girlfriend. During an argument, police reported, they engaged in a physical altercation. Rodgers was given a court date of July 27 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.

Alban Cota, 37, was charged July 26 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on July 26 at approximately 6:56 p.m. officers responded to Walmart for a larceny complaint. Police reported Cota stole merchandise from the sporting goods department valued at $132.62. Cota was given a court date of Aug. 8 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a promise to appear.

Jay Woodruff, 39, of 573 May St., Naugatuck, was charged July 27 with risk of injury to child, third-degree assault and disorderly conduct.

Police reported on July 27 at approximately 2:32 a.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. During an argument, police reported, Woodruff struck the victim. The victim sustained minor injury under her eye, police reported. The victim was holding a juvenile at the time of the altercation, police reported. The juvenile was not injured during the incident. Woodruff was given a court date of July 27 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $5,000 surety bond.

Daniel J. Tichy, 41, of 61 Shelton Road, Oxford, was charged July 27 with sixth-degree larceny.

Quashanda D. Mitchell, 32, of 143 Spring St., Naugatuck, was charged July 27 with second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on July 27 at approximately 5:24 p.m. Mitchell was arrested on an active arrest warrant out of New Haven. Mitchell was given a court date of Aug. 8 to appear at New Haven Superior Court and released on a court-set $10,000 surety bond.

Lawrence M. Verrilli, 58, of 605 Baldwin St., Waterbury, was charged July 27 with sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on July 27 at approximately 5:25 p.m. officers responded to Walmart for a larceny complaint. Police reported Verrilli stole $102 worth of merchandise. Verrilli was given a court date of Aug. 8 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a promise to appear.

Pierrette Julie Lefebvre, 44, of 56 Lounsbury Ave., Waterbury, was charged July 27 with sixth-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny and first-degree criminal trespass.

Police reported on July 27 at approximately 5:25 p.m. officers responded to Walmart for a larceny complaint. Police reported Lefebvre stole $34.90 worth of clothing. Lefebvre was banned from the store for previous shoplifting complaints, police reported. Lefebvre was given a court date of Aug. 8 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a promise to appear.

Michael Don Livingston, 41, of 85 Pleasant Ave., Naugatuck, was charged July 29 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on July 29 at approximately 3:47 a.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. During an argument, police reported, Livingston grabbed the victim by her leg; no injuries were reported. Livingston was given a court date of July 30 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.

Dawn Penzerro, 50, of 150 Brook St., Naugatuck, was charged July 29 with first-degree reckless endangerment and second-degree breach of peace.

Police reported on July 28 at approximately 9:46 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. Police reported Penzerro was involved in an argument with a family member. Police reported Penzerro became upset over the argument and threatened to harm herself with a handgun. Penzerro was taken into custody, and the handgun was retrieved and seized by the officers. Penzerro was given a court date of July 30 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $25,000 surety bond.

Brian Westley, 36, of 23 Lantern Park Drive, Naugatuck, was charged July 30 with violation of probation.

Police reported on July 30 at approximately 12:27 a.m. Westley was arrested on an active arrest warrant. Westley was given a court date of Aug. 8 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a court-set $25,000 surety bond.

David Garbatini, 45, of 159 Andrew Ave., Naugatuck, was charged July 30 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on July 30 officers responded to a domestic disturbance between former boyfriend and girlfriend. During an argument, police reported, they were involved in a physical altercation. Garbatini was given a court date of July 31 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 surety bond.

Amy Poskus, 46, of 151 Andrew Ave., Naugatuck, was charged July 30 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on July 30 officers responded to a domestic disturbance between former boyfriend and girlfriend. During an argument, police reported, they were involved in a physical altercation. Poskus was given a court date of July 31 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 surety bond.

Michael Moniz, 27, of 332 Aspetuck Ridge Road, New Milford, was charged July 31 with third-degree larceny, two counts of interfering with an officer, third-degree burglary, sixth-degree larceny, third-degree criminal mischief, two counts of second-degree failure to appear and first-degree failure to appear.

Police reported Moniz’s arrest stems from an incident on July 23, 2018 in which an officer observed Moniz operating a stolen vehicle on North Main Street. The officer located Moniz at the Sunoco Station on North Main Street Naugatuck. During the course of attempting to take Moniz into custody, police reported, he fled the scene on foot and eluded attempts to apprehend him at that time. It was later determined that Moniz had burglarized a resident during the course of his fleeing from police, police reported. Through investigative efforts the subject’s identity was determined and arrest warrants were secured. On July 31, police reported Naugatuck police detectives developed information that Moniz was could be located at the Naugatuck Motor Lodge. During the course of taking Moniz into custody he became resistive and combative toward officers, police reported. The accused also had an outstanding arrest warrant for failure to appear. Moniz was held on bonds totaling $167,000 pending his appearance at Waterbury Superior Court on Aug. 1.

Takasha D. Dawson, 43, of 361 Highland Ave., Waterbury, was charged July 31 with second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on July 31 Dawson was arrested on an active failure to appear arrest warrant. Dawson was held on bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Aug. 1.

Eduardo Hernandez, 41, of 65 Ross St., Waterbury, was charged July 31 with disorderly conduct, third-degree assault and risk of injury to child.

Police reported on July 31 officers responded to 244 Prospect St. for a domestic disturbance. During the incident, police reported, it was determined that Hernandez had struck his ex-girlfriend in the face during a custody dispute over their child. The juvenile was present during the incident. Hernandez was held on bond and scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on Aug. 1.
