Naugatuck police recently filed the following charges:

David A. Nadal, 28, of 14 Waterville St., Waterbury, was charged July 14 with driving under the influence.

Police reported Nadal was observed driving on Church Street without headlights on. A traffic stop was initiated on Bridge Street. Police reported Nadal submitted to sobriety tests, failed, and was subsequently taken into custody. Nadal was released on a $500 non-surety bond pending his appearance at Waterbury Superior Court.

Devoge Brown, 38, of 127 Proctor St., Waterbury, was charged July 14 with failure to respond to payable violation.

Police reported on July 14 at approximately 6:53 p.m. Brown was arrested on an active arrest warrant. Brown was given a court date of July 25 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a court-set $92 cash bond.

Roberto Rodriguez, 40, of 18 Green St., Waterbury, was charged July 15 with two counts of second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on July 15 Rodriguez was arrested on active arrest warrants. Rodriguez was given a court date of July 16 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and a court date of July 26 to appear at Danbury Superior Court and released on bond.

Lamont Butler, 52, of 112 Fieldwood Road, Waterbury, was charged July 16 with driving under the influence.

Police reported Naugatuck Police received reports of an erratic driver. Officers located the vehicle and a traffic stop was initiated on South Main Street. Police reported Butler submitted to sobriety tests, failed, and was subsequently taken into custody. Butler was released on a $500 non-surety bond pending his appearance at Waterbury Superior Court.

Shirlaina L. Gause, 33, of 18 Harvest Lane, Naugatuck, was charged July 16 with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct.

Police reported on July 16 at approximately 12:20 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. During an argument, police reported, Gause put her arm around the victim’s neck. Gause also grabbed the victim, causing scratches to her arm, police reported. Gause
was given a court date of July 17 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $5,000 surety bond.

Jose Morales, 34, of 18 Hamilton St., New Britain, was charged July 16 with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct.

Police reported on July 16 Morales was arrested on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for a domestic disturbance that occurred on May 26, 2018. During an argument, police reported, Morales kicked the victim, causing redness and swelling to her forearms. Morales was given a court date of July 17 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a promise to appear.

Benjamin J. Heredia, 30, of 47 Summer St., Waterbury, was charged July 17 with violation of probation.

Police reported on July 17 at approximately 7:02 p.m. Heredia turned himself in on an active arrest warrant. Heredia was given a court date of July 25 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $10,000 surety bond.

James L. Brown, 34, of 56 Ledge Side Ave., Waterbury, was charged July 17 with possession of less than a half ounce of marijuana, use or possession of drug paraphernalia and interfering with an officer.

Police reported on July 17 at approximately 9:52 p.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on Spring Street. Brown was arrested on the above listed charges. Brown was given a court date of July 24 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $5,000 non-surety bond.
