The Naugatuck Police Department reported the following arrests:

Superior court dispositions are available at rep-am.com. 

Nicholas R. Demers, 21, of 31 Woodcrest Drive, Naugatuck, was charged May 7 with second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on May 7 at approximately 4:11 p.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on South Main Street. During the investigation, police reported, Demers was identified and found to be wanted on an active arrest warrant. Demers was given a court date of May 16 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $1,000 surety bond.

Shawn Smith, 45, of 17 Whittlessey Ave., Waterbury, was charged May 7 with violation of protective order and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police reported on May 7 at approximately 12:01 a.m. an officer responded to a suspicious vehicle on New Haven Road. During the investigation, police reported, Smith was found to be in possession of a glass smoking pipe. Smith was also in violation of an active protective order with the passenger, police reported. Smith was given a court date of May 7 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $5,000 surety bond.

Miguel A. Torres, 163 Alder St., Waterbury was charged May 8 with three counts of sale of narcotic substance, three counts of possession of controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police reported on May 8 at approximately 10:30 a.m. members of the DEA, State Police K9 Unit, Waterbury Police Department and Naugatuck Police Department executed a search warrant. The warrant was issued as a result of an ongoing narcotics investigation. The search resulted in the seizure of narcotics and drug paraphernalia. Torres was given a court date of May 9 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $150,000.00 surety bond.

Luke Ashmore, 39, of 90 Aetna St., Naugatuck, was charged May 8 with possession of narcotics and sale of narcotic substance.

Police reported on May 8 at approximately 10:30 a.m. Ashmore was arrested on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for an ongoing narcotic investigation. Ashmore was given a court date of May 9 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a court-set $75,000.00 surety bond.

Russell Sullivan, 45, of 80 Melbourne St., Naugatuck, was charged May 8 with possession of controlled substance.

Police reported on May 8 at approximately 10:30 a.m. members of the DEA and Naugatuck Police Department executed a search warrant. The warrant was issued as a result of an ongoing narcotics investigation. The target of the search warrant was seen leaving the residence in Sullivan’s vehicle, police reported. The vehicle was stopped. Sullivan was found to be in possession of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
Sullivan was given a court date of May 16 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $5,000 non-surety bond.

Dyllan Tyson, 20, of 51 Brook St. Apt. 6B, Naugatuck, was charged May 8 with use of vessel without permission.

Police reported on May 8 at approximately 1:32 p.m. Tyson turned himself in on an active arrest warrant. Tyson was given a court date of May 17 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $1,000 non-surety bond.

James Mcintyre Nagle, 21, of 21 Pond St. Apt. 2F, was charged May 8 with second-degree breach of peace.

Police reported on May 8 at approximately 10:56 a.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. During an argument, police reported, Nagle chased the victim down the street and grabbed her by her neck. Nagle was given a court date of May 9 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $500 surety bond.

Tatiana Ospina, 29, of 17 Carroll St., Naugatuck was charged May 9 with failure to respond to payable violation and second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on May 9 Ospina was arrested on an active arrest warrant. Ospina was given a court date of May 10 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $1,000 surety bond.

Christopher D. Norton, 43, of 120 Warren Ave., Naugatuck, was charged May 9 with third-degree assault, second-degree breach of peace, third-degree burglary and second-degree threatening.

Police reported on May 9 at approximately 6:07 p.m. the Naugatuck Police Department was dispatched to 53 High St. on a report of an assault between several adult males. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined that Norton assaulted a victim and then fled to a nearby apartment to hide from police. Police reported Norton entered the residence without permission and threatened and assaulted the resident. Norton was located in the apartment and was arrested, police reported. Norton was scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on May 10.

William Scott, 48, of 93 Kimberly Lane, Watertown, was charged May 9 with third-degree burglary, sixth-degree larceny and second-degree criminal mischief.

Police reported on May 9 Scott was arrested on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for a burglary of a business. Police reported Scott forced entry to the building and stole cash and credit cards. Scott was given a court date of May 10 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a court-set $2,500 surety bond.

Michael Kennedy, 52, of 322 Wedgewood Drive, Naugatuck, was charged May 9 with second-degree breach of peace.

Police reported on May 9 at approximately 3:12 p.m. Naugatuck police investigated a reported assault that occurred between two vehicle operators that occurred in the parking lot of 727 Rubber Ave. Upon investigation, police reported, it was determined that Kennedy approached the victim and became involved in a verbal confrontation that became physical when Kennedy struck the victim. Kennedy was scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on May 23.

David L. Roberts, 41, of 1 Cross St., Naugatuck, was charged May 9 with second-degree breach of peace and interfering with an officer.

Police reported on May 9 police investigated a motor vehicle collision where the occupants suffered minor injuries. During the investigation, police reported, the owner of one of the vehicles involved arrived on scene and became combative and disorderly. Roberts was arrested and charged with the listed violations. Roberts was scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on May 17.

Josue Millan, 33, of 987 Highland Ave., Waterbury, was charged May 9 with first-degree criminal trespass and interfering with an officer.

The arrest report was not available. Millan was scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on May 23.

Christopher Thomas Dougan, 32, of 158 Coe Ave., East Haven, was charged May 9 with violation of protective order, third-degree assault, disorderly conduct and risk of injury to child.

Police reported on May 9 at approximately 10 a.m. Dougan turned himself in on an active arrest warrant. Dougan was given a court date of May 10 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $2,500 surety bond.

Tareem McCoy, 23, 357 Grandview Ave., Waterbury, was charged May 11 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under suspension.

Police reported on May 11 at approximately 1:20 a.m. McCoy was arrested. McCoy was given a court date of May 24 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.

Diane Teixeira, 61, of 22 Arch St., Naugatuck, was charged May 12 with false report of theft of a motor vehicle and false statement.

Police reported on May 12 at approximately 7:50 a.m. Teixeira was arrested on an active arrest warrant. Police reported Teixeira falsely reported that her vehicle was stolen in February of 2018. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined Teixeira vehicle was not stolen. The vehicle was located at a local repair shop, police reported. Teixeira was given a court date of May 23 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $1,000 surety bond.
