The Naugatuck Police Department reported the following arrests:

Saskia Bent, 34, of 27 Crows Nest Lane, Danbury, was charged Jan. 1 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Jan. 1 at approximately 11:34 a.m. Bent turned himself in on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for a domestic disturbance reported on Oct. 31, 2017 between husband and wife. During an argument, police reported, Bent pushed the victim. Bent was given a court date of Jan. 2 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $1,000 non-surety bond.

Cheryl Matthews, 53, of 111 Wooster St., Naugatuck, was charged Jan. 1 with disorderly conduct, third-degree assault and violation of protective order.

Police reported on Jan. 1 at approximately 1:13 a.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance between husband and wife. During an argument, police reported, Matthews hit the victim. Matthews was given a court date of Jan. 2 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $1,000 surety bond.

William Degroate, 36, of 51 Brook St., Naugatuck, was charged Jan. 1 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Jan. 1 at approximately 4:14 a.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance between husband and wife. During an argument, police reported, they were involved in a physical altercation. They grabbed and pushed each other, police reported. Degroate was given a court date of Jan. 2 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.

Krystal Degroate, 35, of 51 Brook St., Naugatuck, was charged Jan. 1 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Jan. 1 at approximately 4:14 a.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance between husband and wife. During an argument, police reported, they were involved in a physical altercation. They grabbed and pushed each other, police reported. Degroate was given a court date of Jan. 2 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.

Daniel Hall, 56, of 285 Hillside Ave., Naugatuck, was charged Jan. 1 with criminal attempt at first-degree assault, breach of peace and second-degree criminal mischief.

Police reported on Jan. 1 at approximately 2:39 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance between former boyfriend and girlfriend. Police reported Hall began to argue with victim while they were seated in a vehicle. The victim exited the vehicle and Hall chased the victim around the vehicle, police reported. Hall attempted to stab the victim with a folding pocket knife, police reported. The victim ran to a passing car that allowed her inside, where she waited until officers arrived. Hall was located at his home where he was taken into custody. Hall was given a court date of Jan. 2 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $30,000 surety bond.

Michael Lawson, 33, of 121 Auburn St., Naugatuck, was charged Jan. 1 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Jan. 1 at approximately 9:49 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance between husband and wife. During an argument, police reported, Lawson shoved the victim causing her to fall to the floor. Lawson was given a court date of Jan. 2 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $2,500 surety bond.

Shawn Williams, 19, of 146 Chestnut Ave., Waterbury, was charged Jan. 2 with second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Jan. 2 Williams was arrested on an active failure to appear arrest warrant. Williams was held on bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 10.

Alexander Gonzalez, 22, of 84 Citizens Ave., Waterbury, was charged Jan. 3 with second-degree failure to appear and illegal possession within 1,500 feet of a school.

Police reported on Jan. 3 at approximately 6:54 p.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on Salem Bridge. Police reported Gonzalez was identified as a passenger in the vehicle. Gonzalez was wanted on an active arrest warrant. During the investigation, police reported, Gonzalez was found to be in possession of prescription medication prescribed to another person. Gonzalez was given a court date of Jan. 24 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a court-set $500 non-surety bond.

Megan Frazier, 27, of 2 Stonemeadow Lane, Canton, was charged Jan. 4 with driving under the influence.

Police reported on Jan. 4 at approximately 12:32 a.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on Bridge Street. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined Frazier was operating under the influence of alcohol. Frazier was given a court date of Jan. 18 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $1,000 non-surety bond.

Steven Hamel, 30, of 131 Ward St., Naugatuck, was charged Jan. 5 with second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Jan. 5 at approximately 3:18 a.m. Hamel was arrested on an active arrest warrant. Hamel was given a court date of Jan. 5 to appear at Waterbury Superior court and held on a court-set $25,000 surety bond.

Stephon Hardy, 38, of 111 Wyoming St., Waterbury, was charged Jan. 5 with home invasion and second-degree assault.

Police reported on Jan. 5 Hardy was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant for an incident that occurred on Dec. 31, 2017 in which the suspect was reported to have assaulted the female victim of which the two had been involved in a domestic relationship. Police reported Hardy was reported to have broken into the victim’s residence and assaulted the victim while the victim was hiding in the bathroom of the home. Hardy fled after the assault occurred, police reported. Hardy was given a court date of Jan. 5 to appear in Waterbury Superior Court.

Steven Hamel, 30, of 131 Ward St., Naugatuck, was charged Jan. 5 with second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Jan. 5 at approximately 3:18 a.m. Hamel was arrested on an active arrest warrant. Hamel was given a court date of Jan. 5 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a court-set $25,000 surety bond.

Muhamed Tairoski, 33, of 808 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, was charged Jan. 5 with possession of controlled substance and use of drug paraphernalia.

Police reported on Jan. 5 at approximately 5:15 p.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on Haggerty Court. During the investigation, police reported, Tairoski was found to be in possession of heroin. Tairoski was given a court date of Jan. 17 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $1,000 non-surety bond.

Mathew Cottrell, 31, of 143 Mount Pleasant St., Derby, was charged Jan. 6 with violation of protective order, disorderly conduct, interfering with an emergency call, second-degree criminal mischief and third-degree assault.

Police reported on Jan. 6 Cottrell was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant stemming from an incident that occurred on Jan. 2, 2018 in which Cottrell became involved in a physical domestic dispute with the victim. During the incident, police reported, Cottrell assaulted the victim and smashed the victim’s phone when the victim attempted to call 911. Cottrell was given a court date of Jan. 8 to appear in Waterbury Superior Court.

Demarco Broadnax, 19, of 554 Ellis St., New Britain, was charged Jan. 6 with third-degree larceny and possession of stolen license plate.

Police reported on Jan. 6 at approximately 12:31 a.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on Old Waterbury Turnpike. Police reported Broadnax was identified as the operator of the vehicle and did not have a valid driver’s license. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined the vehicle was stolen out of Waterbury. The vehicle was not registered or insured and was displaying a stolen registration plate. Broadnax was given a court date of Jan. 17 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $5,000 surety bond.

Joel Pacheco, 30, of 38 Highland Ave., Naugatuck, was charged Jan. 6 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Jan. 6 at approximately 7:18 a.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance between husband and wife. During an argument, police reported, Pacheco grabbed at the victim. Pacheco was given a court date of Jan. 8 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $1,000 non-surety bond.

Jessica Diaz, 44, of 1619 Quinnipiac Ave., New Haven, was charged Jan. 6 with failure to respond to infraction.

Police reported on Jan. 6 at approximately 9:34 p.m. Diaz was arrested on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was issued out of East Haven. Diaz was given a court date of Jan. 17 to appear at New Haven Superior Court and released on a $92 court-set cash bond.

Jonathan Murren, 26, of 67 Lakeview Terrace, Derby, was charged Jan. 6 with second-degree assault and disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Jan. 6 at approximately 10:03 p.m. officers responded to Dee Man’s Bar for an assault between patrons. During an argument, police reported, the victim was pushed to the floor. Police reported Murren kicked the victim in the head and face while he was laying on the floor. The victim was transported, by EMS, to a local hospital for treatment for his injuries. Murren was given a court date of Jan. 17 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $5,000 cash bond.
