The Naugatuck Police Department reported the following arrests:

DANIEL GILLIS, 25, of 100 Manila St., Oakville, was charged March 29 with second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on March 29 at approximately 8:19 a.m. Gillis was arrested on an active arrest warrant out of Newtown. Gillis was given a court date of April 6 to appear at Danbury Superior Court.

MAVIA C. CLEMON, 27, of 128 Hill Street Ext., Waterbury, was charged March 29 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on March 29 at approximately 5 p.m. officers responded to Walmart for a larceny complaint. Police reported Clemon stole merchandise from the store. Clemon was given a court date of April 7 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.

DAVID SWIRBITOWICZ, 56, of 555 North Main St., Naugatuck, was charged April 1 with disorderly conduct, third-degree assault, interfering with an emergency call and third-degree strangulation.

Police reported on April 1 at approximately 1 p.m. Swirbitowicz was arrested on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for a domestic dispute between boyfriend and girlfriend. During an argument, police reported, Swirbitowicz grabbed the victim by her neck. When the accused attempted to call the police, Swirbitowicz took the phone away from the victim, police reported. Swirbitowicz was given a court date of April 4 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a court-set $35,000 surety bond.

ROY GRUNER JR., 35, of 30 Andrasko Road, Beacon Falls, was charged April 1 with two counts of second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on April 1 at approximately 2:29 p.m. Gruner turned himself in on active arrest warrants. Gruner was given a court date of April 13 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on bond.

PAUL JOHNSON, 32, of 290 High St., Naugatuck, was charged April 1 with two counts of second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on April 1 at approximately 2:29 p.m. Johnson was arrested on active arrest warrants out of Derby. Johnson was given a court date of April 13 to appear at Derby Superior Court and released on a court-set surety bond.

WAYNE ALAN KING, 55, of 50 Cherry St., Naugatuck, was charged April 1 with driving under the influence, breach of peace and interfering with an emergency call.

Police reported on April 1 at approximately 7:09 p.m. an officer was approached on North Main Street regarding a past assault. King was located in a vehicle traveling on North Main Street. During an argument, police reported, King pushed the victim. When the victim attempted to call the police, King swatted the victim’s phone away, police reported.

Police reported on April 1 at approximately 7:09 p.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on North Main Street. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined King was operating under the influence of alcohol. King was given a court date of April 13 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $1,000 non-surety bond.

ALEX RODRIGUEZ, 40, of 7 Palmer Ave. 3, Waterbury, was charged April 1 with driving under the influence.

Police reported on April 1 at approximately 7:44 p.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on Maple Street. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined Rodriguez was operating under the influence of alcohol. Rodriguez was given a court date of April 14 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $4,000 surety bond.

JOSEPH KLABEN, 33, of 40 Rough Wing Road, Naugatuck, was charged April 3 with driving under the influence.

Police reported on April 3 at approximately 12:16 a.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on Maple Street. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined Klaben was operating under the influence of alcohol. Klaben was given a court date of April 14 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.

JOSE AUQUILLA-CHIPANTIZA, 33, of 8 Fox Hill Road, Naugatuck, was charged April 3 with driving under the influence.

Police reported on April 3 at approximately 1:45 a.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on Church Street. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined Auquilla-Chipantiza was operating under the influence of alcohol. Auquilla-Chipantiza was given a court date of April 14 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.

CHRISTOPHER DASILVA, 25, of 145 Highland Ave., Naugatuck, was charged April 3 with driving under the influence.

Police reported on April 3 at approximately 1:45 a.m. an officer responded to a motor vehicle accident on Rubber Avenue. Police reported Dasilva struck a utility pole causing it to break. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined Dasilva was operating under the influence of alcohol. Dasilva was given a court date of April 14 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $2,500 surety bond.

MARC CASTELLANO, 41, of 65 Spring St., Naugatuck, was charged April 3 with driving under the influence and evading responsibility motor vehicle.

Police reported on April 3 at approximately 2:58 a.m. an officer responded to a motor vehicle accident on Church Street. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined both operators involved in the accident were operating under the influence of alcohol. Castellano was given a court date of April 14 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $2,500 non-surety bond.

KELLY HARRIS, 41, of 150 Harmony Hill Road, Harwinton, was charged April 3 with driving under the influence.

Police reported on April 3 at approximately 2:58 a.m. an officer responded to a motor vehicle accident on Church Street. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined both operators involved in the accident were operating under the influence of alcohol. Castellano was given a court date of April 14 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.

MICHAEL JOHNSON, 23, of 81 Walnut St., Waterbury, was charged April 4 with driving under the influence.

Police reported on April 4 at approximately 2 a.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on Oak Street. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined Johnson was operating under the influence of alcohol. Johnson was given a court date of April 14 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.
