NAUGATUCK — Steven Michael Montoni, 60, fourth born son to Frank and Alice Montoni, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Aug. 15, 2022.
Steve was born on Dec. 23, 1961, in Waterbury Hospital, and after spending his childhood years in Naugatuck, headed off to and graduated from Denver Diesel and Automotive School to pursue a deep-seated love for cars that he’s had since the beginning of time.
It’s because of that love and devotion that he elevated himself to world-class General Motors master technician status and became the “go to guy” for pretty much everything for those around him since then.
Steve loved his family and friends, above all else, and was one of the biggest hearted people that you might ever been lucky enough to know. He had an uncanny ability to touch peoples’ hearts and earn their respect, making an undeniable impact on all those who knew him best.
Steve will be truly missed.
Besides all those too numerous to mention, Steve and his memory will be survived by his only son, Steven Montoni Jr., Steve Jr.’s mother, Dorothy Mendygral Montoni of Cheshire, Frank and Barbara Montoni and family, Paul and Kimberly Montoni, Chris and Laureen Montoni and family, all from Naugatuck.
Services for Steve were 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 11, at the Oasis Church, Sandbank Road, Cheshire.
