NAUGATUCK — Steven Louis Stopper Jr., 37, husband of Danielle (Morissette) Stopper, died July 12, 2023, at Hartford Hospital.
Steven was born Feb. 21, 1986 in Waterbury.
He graduated from Naugatuck High School and received his associate degree in business management from Naugatuck Valley Community College.
For the past six years, Steven worked as an automotive mechanic at Sullivan’s Northwest Hills in Torrington.
Steven was a motorcycle enthusiast and proud member of the OTHG, where he was named “wrench.” He loved riding his motorcycles, dirt bikes, being with family and friends, building things and the outdoors.
Steven was the most amazing husband and father and he was extremely proud of his family.
In addition to Danielle, his loving wife of nine years, Steven is survived by his son, Ryker Stopper; his father, Steve Stopper Sr. and Jill; his mother and stepfather, Lorie and Steve Westall; his father and mother-in-law, Paul and Jeannine Morissette; his sister and brother-in-law, Corinne and Scot Crosswait; his nieces, Callie and Hailie Crosswait; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.
Steven was predeceased by his grandparents, Ralph and Helen Stopper Sr., and James and Ellen “Kicky” Chapman.
Calling hours were to be Friday, July 21, 2023, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck.
A Mass of Christian Burial was to be celebrated Saturday, July 22, 2023, at 10 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church St., Naugatuck.
