PLANTSVILLE — Shirley Gagnon Tedesco, age 89, died at LiveWell Care in Plantsville on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2022.
She was born and raised in Waterbury to Edward and Helen Gagnon. Shirley was one of five children.
Survivors include three daughters, one son, eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two sisters and one brother.
She was married to John “Jack” Tedesco until his death in 2019, for 62 years. They lived and raised their family in Naugatuck.
Shirley was a beloved wife, mother, sister, daughter, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend.
She will be remembered most for her sweetness and wonderful sense of humor. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Later in life she found happiness in painting.
Shirley leaves behind three daughters and one son, Teri Raftery and husband Stephen of Apex, N.C., Christine Boisvert and husband David of Watertown, John Tedesco III and wife Elisabete of Austin, Texas, and Jacklyn Breier and husband Joseph of Pittsburgh, Penn.
She also will be missed by her eight grandchildren, Chelsea Raftery Avram, Sarah Raftery, Nicole (Boisvert) Olsen, Natalie Boisvert, John Tedesco IV, Troy Tedesco, Levi Breier and Samantha Breier.
Shirley will also leave five great-grandchildren, Sonny Avram, Magdalena Olsen, Sylvie Olsen, Logan Plourde and Arijeta Breier.
Funeral services will be at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home in Naugatuck at a later date.
