PROSPECT — Sally Toma, 82, of Prospect, passed away peacefully, while surrounded by the love of her family, on Monday, Jan. 23, 2023, at Waterbury Hospital. Sally was the widow of the late Peter Toma.

Born Aug. 6, 1940 in Harrisburg, Pa., Sally was one of six children of the late Dominic and Mary (Koteles) Retassie.

Family was everything to Sally; her daughters were her prides and joys and her grandchildren the lights of her life.

Left to cherish her memory and love are her daughters, Valerie and her husband David Landino, of Southington, and Brenda Floser and her life partner Jennifer Donovan, of Cromwell. “Grandma” will be so missed by her adoring grandchildren, Jackson and Carson Landino and Chloe and Zachary Floser.

Sally is also survived by her brothers, Lil Dominic Retassie of Pennsylvania, Geno Retassie, also of Pennsylvania, Jerry Retassie of Pennsylvania; and sister Mary Tortora and her husband Jim, of Arizona.

Sally was predeceased by her husband Peter and her sister Edith Charlton; and stepbrothers Leonard and Ernest and stepsister Nora.

All were invited to gather with Sally’s family for visitation Sunday, Jan. 29, 2023, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Prospect Memorial/The Palmerie Family Funeral Home, 122 Waterbury Road, Prospect.

A celebration of life service was to begin at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial was to be private, whereby Sally will be interred with her husband at Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown.
