NAUGATUCK — Richard J. Couture, 66, of Naugatuck, passed away suddenly at his home on June 1, 2023. He was born in Waterbury to the late Wilfred and Julia (Bowes) Couture.
Richie is survived by his brothers, Robert Couture and his wife Liz of Oxford, Stephen Couture and his wife Suzanne of Manchester; and sister Anne Thomas and her husband Scott of Centerburg, Ohio. Rich remained close to his siblings and cherished the bond they shared. Their love and support were a constant source of strength for him.
Rich is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews. He was an adoring uncle who took great pleasure in watching them grow into adulthood.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his sisters Patricia Paradis and Linda Wood. Their memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved them.
Richie had a strong faith and a personal relationship with God that brought him great joy and comfort. Rich was also an avid sports enthusiast. He especially loved fishing and enjoyed cheering for all things UConn!
A memorial service to celebrate Rich’s life will be on July 29 at 3 p.m. at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, 210 Church St., Naugatuck. Family and friends are invited to attend and pay their respects. Interment will be private.
