BEACON FALLS – Regina A. (Brecelnik) “Jean” Uszakiewicz, age 88, widow of Joseph Uszakiewicz, passed away on July 21, 2022 at Waterbury Hospital.
Jean was born Feb. 26, 1934 in Duryea, Pa., daughter of the late Carl and Regina (Nitowski) Brecelnik. She lived most of her life in Beacon Falls, and had retired from the Chemical Division of Uniroyal, Inc., where she worked in the accounting department for many years. Jean was a devout Catholic and active member of St. Michaels Church in Beacon Falls.
She leaves her children, Carla Getz and her husband, Jeff, of New Britain, Susan Ventresca and Fred Bowes of Beacon Falls, and Linda Colangelo and her husband, Thomas, of Bethany; her six grandchildren, Melissa Ventresca and Jack, Kenneth Ventresca and Melissa, Richard Brinker and Taylor, Megan Sakowski and Pawel, Alysha Colangelo and Joseph Colangelo; her great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Isabella, Julianna, Samantha, Kennedy and Sean; her sister, Rose Douty of Naugatuck, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother Arthur Brecelnik.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Michaels Church in Beacon Falls. Burial followed in St. James Cemetery in Naugatuck.
