BEACON FALLS — Pasqua Maria “Lee” Catanzaro, 89, widow of Sebastian Ben Catanzaro, died peacefully on May 25, 2023, at Griffin Hospital.

Pasqua was born Oct. 5, 1933 in Liberty, N.Y., a daughter of the late Joseph and Maria Salerno. Pasqua graduated from Liberty High School and she formerly worked as an insurance adjuster for Allstate Insurance.

She loved spending time with her family.

She enjoyed gardening, cooking, going to the beach, and reading. She became a sports fan later in life, adopting the New York Mets as her baseball team; she rekindled her interest in hockey with the New York Rangers, all after Italy won the World Cup in 2006.

Pasqua is survived by her son, Ben Catanzaro of Beacon Falls; her sister, Marie Catanzaro of Valley Stream, N..Y; her nephew and godson, Leonard J. Catanzaro (Kim) of South Orange, N.J., her niece Mela Catanzaro-Schlereth (David) of Naples, Fla., her nephew Joseph Catanzaro (Francesca) of Naples, Fla., her nephew Leonard V. Catanzaro of Elgin, S.C., and her niece Marisa Catanzaro (Eric) of The Woodlands, Texas; as well as all of her grandnieces and -nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was to be celebrated Monday, June 5, 2023, at 11 a.m. at St. Michael Church, 25 Maple Ave., Beacon Falls. Burial was to follow in St. James Cemetery. Naugatuck.

Visitation was to be Monday, June 5, 2023, from 9 to 10:15 a.m. at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck.
