Obit-CandleNAUGATUCK — Mr. William F. Mascola, 84, of Naugatuck, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013 at the Paradigm Health Care Center in Prospect surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Margaret (Froehlich) Mascola.

Mr. Mascola was born in Waterbury on April 12, 1929 a son of the late Neil and Carmela (Langello) Mascola. He was retired as the owner of Mascola’s Tailors in Naugatuck and had also worked in the maintenance departments at Prospect Street and Cross Street schools in Naugatuck for 18 years. He was a truly loving husband, father and grandfather, who cherished every moment that he was able to spend with his family — especially his grandchildren. He was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Naugatuck, a member of the Naugatuck Retired Mens Club, enjoyed playing cards and was an avid New York Yankees fan.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Mascola is survived by two daughters, Marianne Como of Naugatuck and Lori Bruneau and her husband Michael of Naugatuck; a brother, Charles Mascola of Naugatuck; a stepsister, Peggy Bernier of Florida; seven grandchildren, Joseph Como Jr., Matthew Como and Christopher Como, Michael Bruneau Jr., Jonathan Bruneau, Kyle Bruneau and Sarah Bruneau and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Lillian Minervini and Elvira Perry and a brother, Louis Mascola.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013 at 10:15 a.m. from Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect, to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church St., Naugatuck for a mass at 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery in Naugatuck. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday morning from 8:30 to 10 a.m.
