BEACON FALLS — William F. Mariano III, 64, of Railroad Avenue, Beacon Falls, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at West Haven Veteran’s Hospital after a brief illness.

Mr. Mariano was born in Waterbury on Jan.1, 1948, a son of the late William F. Mariano Sr. and Albina M. (Chadarcewicz) Mariano. He was a lifelong resident of Beacon Falls and an U.S. Army veteran serving two tours of duty during the Vietnam conflict. He retired from Xellecon in Hamden where he worked for 10 years and was a member of the East End Yacht Club in Bridgeport. He was a communicant of St. Michael Church.

He leaves his brother, David V. Mariano and his wife Donna of Prospect; his nephews, Thomas J. “TJ” Mariano of Sharon, David Mariano Jr. of Waterbury; his niece, Ashley Mariano of North Carolina.

He was predeceased by his brother, Thomas J. Mariano.

His funeral will be held on Monday, March 26 at 9:45 a.m. from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck to St. Michael Church, for a mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m.
