Obit-CandlePROSPECT — Mrs. Wendy E. (Wilson) Pinto, 56, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, at the Vitas Innovative Hospice Care at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was the widow of Stephen J. Pinto.

Wendy was born July 4, 1957 in Waterbury a daughter of Bernice (Hampston) Wilson of Prospect and the late William Wilson.

Wendy was a 1975 graduate of Kaynor Tech. She worked at All Star Transportation for many years and had also worked at Meloria Children’s Hospital in Prospect. She loved to crochet baby Afghans and sweaters for family and friends. She would also make baby hats and donate them to local hospitals. She was a member of the Happy Hookers Crochet Group in Prospect and a former member of the Prospect Ladies Auxiliary.

Besides her mother, Wendy is survived by a son, Bryan Pinto of Bristol and his wife Carly of Bristol; two brothers, James Wilson and his wife Robbin of Prospect and Kenneth Wilson of Cheshire; a grandson, William Pinto of Naugatuck; a granddaughter, Kylie of Bristol; brother-in-law, Bruce Pinto and his wife Pamela of Thomaston, several nieces and nephews and special friends, Paul and Marie Sampieri.

Wendy’s family would like to thank the staff of Vitas Innovative Hospice Care at St. Mary’s Hospital for the compassionate care that they provided.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013 at 12 p.m. at Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013 from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
