BEACON FALLS – Mrs. Wanda R. (Rzeszutek) Staskiewicz, 86, of Shasta Terrace, Beacon Falls, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at the VITAS Unit at Saint Mary’s Hospital. She was the widow of Joseph R. Staskiewicz.
Mrs. Staskiewicz was born in Oxford on Oct. 24, 1925, a daughter of the late Stanley and Mary (Kuzar) Rzeszutek. She was a resident of Beacon Falls for 56 years where she raised her family. She was a member of the Beacon Falls Senior Center and Rock Rimmon Grange where she ran bingo. She was a communicant of St. Michael Church.
She leaves four beloved sons, Raymond Staskiewicz and his wife Judy of Naugatuck, Thomas Staskiewicz and his wife Chris of Newtown, Stanley Staskiewicz and his wife Carmen of Aurora, Colo., Joseph Staskiewicz and his wife Terri of Simsbury; two beloved daughters, JoAnn Staskiewicz of Beacon Falls, Lori Mendez and her husband Angelo of Naugatuck; a sister, Carol Boland of Guilford; two brothers Stanley Rzeszutek of Oregon and George Rzeszutek of Oxford; five grandchildren, Ben, Raymond, Krystina, Zachary, and Joshua; two great-grandchildren, Lauren and Natalie; several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held on Monday, May 7 at 9:15 a.m. from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck to St. Michael Church, 25 Maple Ave., Beacon Falls for a mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 2 to 5 p.m.
