NAUGATUCK — Walter Polek, Jr., 79, passed away Monday, Jan. 6, 2014 at Beacon Brook Health Center in Naugatuck.
Mr. Poleck was born May 23, 1934 in New Haven, the son of the late Walter and Ann (DelChiaro) Polek, Sr. He was raised in New Haven before moving to Naugatuck in the early 2000s. He was a Union truck driver for Local 443 until his retirement in the 1980s and was a member of Polish American Club in Naugatuck.
Mr. Poleck is survived by his sons, Scott of Naugatuck, Steven of Winsted and Keith of Bunnell, Fla.; his sister, Beverly Emerson and her husband, Arthur of North Haven as well as his seven grandchildren.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014 at 11 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church St., Naugatuck. Friends are asked to meet directly at church and there are no calling hours. Burial will be held in All Saints Cemetery in North Haven at the convenience of the family. The Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. is assisting with arrangements.
