Viola M. (Mambrino) Mariano

NAUGATUCK — Viola M. (Mambrino) Mariano, 84, formerly of Lorann Drive passed away peacefully on Monday, Aug. 15. She was the widow of William E. (Popy) Mariano.

Viola was born March 4, 1927 in Naugatuck, a daughter of the late John and Pauline Mambrino. She was a lifelong resident of Naugatuck where she was educated in the Naugatuck school system. She retired from Risdon Mfg. Co. She was a member of the Elks NO. 967 Emblem club, Catholic Council of Women and was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church.

Viola is survived by her two daughters, Patricia LaPerriere and her husband, Paul of Novato, Calif., Susan Mariano of Manchester; a son, Douglas Mariano and his wife Nancy of Naugatuck; four grandchildren, Eric Mariano and his wife Cath, Lisa Mariano and her husband Mike Wilson, Katharine LaPerriere, Brian Mariano and his wife Ashley; and five great-grandchildren, Tyler Martin, Brianna Mariano, Alysa and Megan Sigovitch, and Eliana Mariano. She also leaves two brothers, Joseph Mambrino and Larry Mambrino and his wife Roberta; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brothers Joseph Daddona and by her step-mother Carmela.

The family would like to thank the staff at Paradigm Health Care Center for all their wonderful care they so graciously gave her.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, Aug. 20, at 8:15 a.m. from the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 26 Waterbury Road, Route 69, Prospect, to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church St., Naugatuck. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
