NAPLES, Fla. — Mr. Vincent P. Summa, 82, of Naples, Fla., formerly of Naugatuck, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2012 in Naples surrounded by his daughters.

Mr. Summa was born in Naugatuck on June 28, 1930 a son of the late Frank and Rosina (Errico) Summa. He was retired from the Uniroyal Inc. Footwear Division in Naugatuck where he worked as a machinist for many years and was a communicant of St. Vincent Ferrer Church in Naugatuck.

Mr. Summa was a U.S. Army veteran having proudly served his country as a sergeant during the Korean War. He was the recipient of the Korean Service Medal with one Bronze Star, the United Nations Service Medal, Connecticut Wartime Veterans Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.

Mr. Summa is survived by two daughters, Darleen Kearney and Rosemary Stepler; a son, Harold Summa; two brothers, John Summa and Jerry Summa; five grandchildren, Erin Skrok, Meggie Kearney, Brandon Stepler, Michael Stepler, and Lyla Rose Summa; two great-grandchildren, Natalie Strong and Lucas Stepler, several cousins, nieces and nephews.. He is also survived by his companion, Barbara Scofield.

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent Ferrer Church, 1006 New Haven Road, Naugatuck. Family and friends are asked to please meet directly at the church. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery in Naugatuck. Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 27, 2012 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck.
