HAMDEN — Mrs. Veronica (Piascik) Kulis, 90, of Whitney Manor, Hamden, went home to the Lord Sunday, Oct. 23, at Whitney Manor. She was the widow of John J. Kulis, having been married over 61 years.

Mrs. Kulis was born, youngest of seven children, in Baldwinville, Mass. on Jan. 13, 1921, a daughter of the late Mateus and Maryanna Piascik. She lived in Hamden most of her life, having worked many years at Connecticut Hard Rubber from where she retired. She was a devote communicant of St. Stanislaus Church, New Haven. She will be remembered as being a most devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, dear aunt and friend always ready to help anyone in need. She especially enjoyed making flower arrangements and giving them as gifts.

She is survived by her twin daughters, Linda R. Clifford of Naugatuck and her husband Deacon Thomas J. Clifford, Jean K. Lucas of Cheshire and her husband Fred M. Lucas; her sister, Frances Wielock of Meriden; her four grandchildren, Christopher and Michael Clifford, Christine Lucas and Linda Cleary; her great-granddaughter, Alyssa Clifford; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Michael, John, Gideon; her sisters, Sophie and Helen; her two grandchildren, Theresa and Thomas Clifford.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 11 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Church, corner of Eld Street and State Street, New Haven. Friends are asked to meet directly at the church at 10:45 a.m. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 700 Middletown Ave., North Haven. Calling hours will be held at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck on Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
