Thomas J. Pointon
Thomas J. Pointon, 81, of Las Vegas, Nev. passed away peacefully on Jan. 20, with loving family members at his side.

Tommy was born on July 13, 1929, in Naugatuck. He was predeceased by his mother and stepfather, Jean and Sante Talevi, his father, Thomas Pointon, and his brother, Robert Pointon.

Tommy worked as a mechanic at the Peter Paul Factory in Naugatuck for 44 years. From 1951-1953 he served in the U.S. Army in Germany and was then transferred to the U.S. Army Reserve where he served from 1953-1957.

When he retired in 1991, Tommy realized his life-long dream to move to Las Vegas. He encouraged his aunts and all of his cousins to visit him. And they did. His favorite times were spent in the company of his family.

Tommy is survived by two aunts, Josephine Forchielli of Naugatuck, and Mary Coppola of Seymour, and many caring cousins, dear friends and wonderful neighbors.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, Feb. 18 at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent Fener Church, 1006 New Haven Road, Naugatuck, followed by burial in St. James cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at the church. There are no calling hours. The Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., is in charge of the arrangements.
