Thomas Fairhall Johnson
NAUGATUCK — Mr. Thomas Fairhall Johnson, 80, died Tuesday, April 26 at St. Mary’s Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Marilyn (Luddy) Johnson.

Mr. Johnson was born in Waterbury on Dec. 14, 1930. He was the son of the late Major J. William Johnson and the late Lillian (Thomas) Johnson. Mr. Johnson was retired from Airpax Corporation in Cheshire, where he worked as a draftsman for 40 years. He previously worked at A.W. Hayden in Waterbury. He was a member of the Naugatuck Congregational Church, a member of the American Legion Post #17 in Naugatuck and a long-time volunteer at the Ecumenical Food Bank in Naugatuck. A U.S. Navy veteran, Mr. Johnson served during the Korean War.

Besides his wife, Mr. Johnson is survived by a daughter: Janice J. Hartford and her
husband Charles of Stow, Mass.: a son, Thomas E. Johnson of Naugatuck: two grandchildren: Christopher T. Hartford of Ota, Japan, and Ellen C. Hartford of Stow, Mass.

He was predeceased by two sisters: Eleanor Monroe and Lillian Evans and two brothers: Sgt. Major J. William “Bill” Johnson and Franklin Johnson.

Mr. Johnson is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Claire Johnson of Waterbury and Jeanne Johnson of Naugatuck and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday June 4, at 10 a.m. at the Naugatuck Congregational Church, 9 Division Street, Naugatuck. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. The Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck is in charge of arrangements.
