NAUGATUCK — Thomas E. Honyotski Jr., 53, died peacefully at home on Jan. 20, 2021.
Tom was born on Dec. 23, 1967, in Waterbury, a son of Thomas E. Honyotski Sr. and the late Nancy (Randall) Honyotski, and was a lifelong Naugatuck resident.
Tom attended local schools and graduated from Kaynor Tech in 1986. In 1988, Tom joined the Navy and went to boot camp in San Diego, Calif., and then was assigned to duty aboard the U.S.S. Philippine Sea (CG58), where he served as a plank owner.
Tom is survived by his father and stepmother, Thomas Honyotksi Sr. and Pamela Honyotski of Naugatuck; his brothers, Michael and his wife, Denise Honyotski, of Wallingford and Brian and his wife, Susan Honyotski, of Greenwich; his sister, Elizabeth and her husband, James Holloway, of Waterbury; his daughter, Kaleigh Honyotski of Naugatuck; and three loving nieces, Nanci, Robyn and Harper.
Walk-through calling hours will be Thursday, Jan. 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck. The Naugatuck Veterans Council will assemble Thursday at 7:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Everyone attending is required to wear a facial covering and to adhere to social distancing guidelines. Burial will be at a later date.
