SHELTON — Sandra H. Chandler, 83, of Shelton, peacefully entered into rest on Friday, June 28, 2019, at her home after a long illness. She married the love of her life, the late Wilbur P. Chandler in 1957. Sandra was born in Schenectady, N.Y., on June 27, 1936, daughter of the late R. Stanley and Gertrude (Rudd) Houck, and lived in Shelton since 1969.
She worked in human resources for FAST Inc. in Stratford before retirement and was a volunteer at the Spooner House. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family.
She is the beloved mother of Tracie C. Boroczky and her husband, Jeffrey, and John G. Chandler and his wife, Deborah. Sandra was the proud grandmother of Jeffrey Boroczky, Melinda Litke, Jamie Boroczky, Stephanie Chandler and Sarah Chandler, and great-grandmother of Cameron, Connor, Jackson and Audra. She also is survived by her brother, Robert Houck, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Willy P. Chandler, and her sister, Deborah Golden.
The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at the Huntington Congregational Church on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at 6:30 p.m.
