NAUGATUCK — Rosemary A. Garbukas, 73, died peacefully on Nov. 19, 2019 in the VITAS Innovative Care Unit at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Rosemary was born on Jan. 24, 1946 in Waterbury, a daughter of the late Albert W. and Margaret (Bulkovitch) Garbukas, and was a lifelong Naugatuck resident. Rosemary graduated from Hop Brook Grammar School and Naugatuck High School and also from A.I.B. courses at Fairfield University and bank seminars at Post College. Rosemary worked at the Salem Theater for 12 years and for Naugatuck Savings Bank, retiring as branch manager of the Mountview Plaza branch. Rosemary was a member of the Naugatuck High School Alumni Association and the Naugatuck Historical Society.

Rosemary is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Robert T. and Carol Garbukas,; her nieces, Suzan Daley and Tricia Maia; her nephew, Peter Daley; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Josh, Jessie, Jaden and Cameron. In addition to her parents, Rosemary was predeceased by her sister, Patricia G. Daley, and her nieces, Melissa Garbukas and Karen DePalma.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, Nov. 22 at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony Church, 4 Union City Road, Prospect. Everyone is kindly asked to meet at church. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. Visitation will be Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Anthony Church.
