Rose (Wolcin) Sirica

PROSPECT — Mrs. Rose (Wolcin) Sirica, 97, of 25 Royal Crest Road, Prospect, formerly of Naugatuck, passed away on Sunday, July 3, at Paradigm Health Care of Prospect after a brief illness. She was the widow of Charles E. Sirica, Sr.

 

Mrs. Sirica was born in Philadelphia, Pa. on Feb. 20, 1914, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Kelley) Wolcin. She was a longtime Naugatuck resident and lived in Hollywood, Fla. for 10 years before returning to the area. She retired from the Footwear Division of Uniroyal, Inc. where she worked for over 40 years. She was past president of the Emblem Club and a communicant of St. Vincent Ferrer Church.

She leaves her son, Charles E. Sirica, Jr. and his wife Eydie of Naugatuck; her grandson, Stephen Sirica and his wife Vicky; her great-grandson, Joseph Thomas Sirica; her sister, Helen Fabrisi of Naugatuck; and several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held on Friday, July 8, at 10 a.m. from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck to St. Vincent Ferrer Church, 1006 New Haven Road, Naugatuck for a mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
