Obit-CandleNAUGATUCK — Rose M. (DiCarlo) Angiolillo, “Gramma Rosie,” 92, passed away on Nov. 7, 2013 at Beacon Brook Healthcare. She was the wife of the late Dominic Angiolillo.

Rose was born on March 14, 1921 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, a daughter of the late Michael and Maria DiCarlo. During WWII, she worked in the Waterbury brass industry as a true “Rosie the Riveter” and later went on to a long career as a quality control inspector for Risdon Manufacturing until her retirement. Not one to take retirement sitting down, Rose went on to become a certified nurse’s aide providing loving care to her clients, all of them her junior. Rose’s favorite pastime was baking and we will always remember the incredible cakes, pies and cookies she made throughout the years that were delicious works of art.

She is survived by her daughter, Rose Ramos and son-in-law, Thomas of Naugatuck; her son, Dominic Angiolillo and his wife, Diane of Sunrise, Fla.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sisters, Maria Neri and Grace Cameron, and brothers, John and Louis DiCarlo.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013 at 9 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church St., Naugatuck. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery. There are no calling hours and the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck, is in charge of the arrangements.
The family would like to thank the staff at Beacon Brook Healthcare for the loving care they gave Rose.
