Obituary: Rose (LaPorta) Suozzo

PROSPECT — Mrs. Rose (LaPorta) Suozzo, 86, of Prospect, died Thursday, Dec. 15, at Waterbury Hospital after a long illness. She was the widow of Adolph “Bob” Suozzo.

Mrs. Suozzo was born in Waterbury on July 19, 1925 a daughter of the late Libero and Josephine (DeVito) LaPorta. She was retired from Airpax in Cheshire where she worked as a secretary for many years and was a communicant of St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church in Prospect. After her retirement, Rose worked part time in the dining room at Burger King on Reidville Drive in Waterbury.

Mrs. Suozzo is survived by a brother, James LaPorta of Gilbert, Ariz. and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by five brothers and a sister.

A funeral mass will be held on Monday, Dec. 19, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church, 4 Union City Road, Prospect. Family and friends are asked to please meet directly at the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury. Friends may call at the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 26 Waterbury Road, Route 69, Prospect on Sunday, Dec. 18, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
