NAUGATUCK — Mrs. Rose (Fiorelli) Rabbitt, 90, of Naugatuck, peacefully passed away in her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013. She was the widow of Robert J. Rabbitt, the love of her life to whom she married after only knowing him for three weeks and spent over 56 loving years with.

Mrs. Rabbitt was born in Reggio Calabria, Italy on Oct. 6, 1922, a daughter of the late Natale and Nunziata Fiorelli. Originally named Rosa, her name was changed when she arrived in America in 1934. She was a longtime Stamford resident before settling in Naugatuck for the past 19 years. Rose was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She spent her time enjoying feeding her family, teaching her grandchildren Italian, and sharing old stories of years passed.

She leaves her daughters, Nancy Barnsley of Naugatuck, Roberta Kremmel and her husband Larry of Waterbury; her beloved grandchildren, Rosamarie Conti, Tara L. Vance, Charles L. Barnsley, Jr. and his wife Kimberly, Jeffrey R. Edwards and his partner Catherine Zuzick, and Ryan M. Edwards; her great-grandchildren, Richard Darren Conti, Jr., Owen Dean Innerst, Emily Rose and Abigail Grace Vance; her son-in-law, Charles Barnsley, Sr. and his wife Deborah; her beloved nephews Natale (Nart) Caminiti and his wife Pauline, and Peppi Caminiti and his wife Gracie, as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Seasons Hospice of Naugatuck for the wonderful care given to Rose throughout her final days.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Aug. 8 from 5-8 p.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck. Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 17 at 11 a.m. at Evangelical Christian Church, 1325 Watertown Ave., Waterbury.
