Rose (Baldelli) DeGennaro

NAUGATUCK — Rose (Baldelli) DeGennaro, 90, widow of Patsy DeGennaro, passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital on Saturday, March 21, 2020.

Born in Derby on May 14, 1929, she was the daughter of Oddo Alfred and Jennie (Valentini) Baldelli. Rose was a longtime resident of Derby and lived in Naugatuck since 1985. She was a communicant of St. Vincent Ferrer Church. She enjoyed swimming, bowling, all types of dancing, sewing, and often made her own clothing. Rose always saw the good in people and was known for her positive outlook on life.

Rose leaves her son, Paul J. DeGennaro and his wife, Sandra, of Naugatuck, and their children, Stephen, Lauren and Peter; her daughter, Laura White and her husband, Tom, of Norwalk, and their children, Jeffrey and Michael; and her daughter, Joyce Rich of Wakefield, R.I., and her daughter, Olivia; her sister Lillian Novak of Shelton. She was predeceased by her sister and eight brothers.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2020 at 1 p.m. at Mount Saint Peter Cemetery, 219 New Haven Ave., Route 34 in Derby. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Vincent Ferrer Church at a later date. The Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck, is assisting the family with arrangements.
