KEENE, N.H. — Robert W. Mallory, 87, formerly of Naugatuck, Conn., died Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at Bentley Commons Senior Living Facility in Keene, New Hampshire. He was the husband of the late Mary E. (Stover) Mallory.

Robert was born Aug. 20, 1924, in Detroit, Mich., son of the late Willis B. Mallory and Edith G. (Spencer) Mallory. He was a graduate of Kalamazoo College where he met his loving wife of 62 years, Mary. His time in college was interrupted by WWII when he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a navigator in the Pacific theater, later being recalled for the Korean War. He moved from South Bend, Ind. to Naugatuck in 1967 as the result of his U.S. Rubber transfer. In Naugatuck he raised a family, was a member of the Congregational Church, and after his retirement was actively involved in the Ecumenical Food Bank.

He leaves a daughter, Debbie Mallory of Fitzwilliam, N.H.; two sons, Craig Mallory and his wife, Ester of Burke, Va., and Kevin Mallory and his wife, Margaret of Newton, Mass.; and his four grandchildren, Debbie and Mike Saunder’s sons, Chace Saunders and Riley Saunders, and Kevin’s sons, Kyle Mallory and Luke Mallory. Also, Harry and Jane (Mallory) Wagner of White Lake, Mich., and Helen Guinness of Rock Hill, S.C.

A memorial service will be held on June 21 at 11 a.m. in the Congregational Church of Naugatuck, 9 Division St. Burial will be in the Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth, Ind. The Cournoyer Funeral Home of Jaffrey, N.H. is assisting the family with arrangements for the funeral services in Naugatuck.
