Robert Raymond Czaplicki

NAUGATUCK — Robert Raymond Czaplicki, 80, of Naugatuck, loving husband of Dawn (Biagioni) Czaplicki for 31 years, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 13, 2020, at home surrounded by his loving family.

Born on Oct. 8, 1940, he was the son of the late Raymond Czaplicki and Sophie Czaplicki. Robert worked for G&G Beverage Company for over 40 years, making many friends along the way with his wit and humor. He was an avid history buff, Yankees and Giants fan, and lover of the beach, spending many summers at Misquamicut with his family. Bob was a Little League baseball coach and basketball coach for Union City Little League and the Naugatuck Basketball Association, respectively.

Robert will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him. He is survived by two devoted sons, Dean Byron Czaplicki, and his wife, Kathleen Czaplicki, of Southbury, and Zachary Dane Czaplicki and his wife, Shelby Czaplicki, of Windsor; as well as one cherished grandchild, Gaby “Peanut,” He also leaves many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and -nephews. He was predeceased by sister, Mary “Chippy” Miller. He is also survived by his father-in-law, Pete Biagioni; mother-in-law, Patricia Biagioni; brother-in-law, Peter Biagioni; brother-in-law, Kenny Freer; and sister-in-law, Kimberly Freer, all of Naugatuck.

Walkthrough calling hours scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 19, have been cancelled and are rescheduled for Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck.
