Robert C. Hurworth
MIDDLEBURY — Mr. Robert C. Hurworth, 83, of Middlebury, passed away Wednesday morning, May 5, at Masonicare of Newtown. He was the husband of Goldie M. (Donovan) Hurworth.

Mr. Hurworth was born in Providence, R.I., Oct. 24, 1927, a son of the late Robert H. and Gladys M. (Wood) Hurworth and had been a resident of Middlebury since 1970, moving here from Waterbury. He was educated in the Providence school system and was a graduate of Gorton High School. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Army with the 281st Military Police Co. and was a recipient of the WW II Victory medal. He then graduated from Columbia University with a degree in Horticulture. He was a retired employee of Lexington Gardens. He was a member of Liberty-Continental Lodge # 78 A.F. & A.M. of Waterbury, the Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Waterbury and the Lafayette Consistory, 32nd Degree, Valley of Bridgeport.

Besides his wife of 40 years, he leaves one sister: Elizabeth Hurworth of Greenwich, two nieces: Lynn Donovan of Naugatuck, and Cynthia Taurinski of Florida and one nephew: Gary Donovan of Waterbury.

His funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 7 at 11 a.m. at the Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck. Burial with full military honors will be in Grove Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck. There are no calling hours.
