NAUGATUCK — Mr. Robert C. Caron, 76, of Margaret Circle, Naugatuck, unexpectedly passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband of Barbara (Holloway) Caron.
Mr. Caron was born in Waterbury on Sept. 23, 1935, a son of the late Florian and Blanche M. (Gagne) Caron. He was a lifelong Naugatuck resident and served in the Army for two years in Germany. He retired after 15 years of service from the Naugatuck Street Department and also worked for Murtha Enterprises for many years. He was a member of the Naugatuck Elks, the Lake Quassapaug Fishing Club, and a communicant of St. Vincent Ferrer Church. He will be remembered as a handyman who could fix anything for anyone in need of help.
Besides his wife of 52 years, he leaves his children Donald C. Caron of Maricopa, Ariz., Susan Caron Clark and her husband Mitch of Maricopa, Ariz., Michael L. Caron and his wife Kara Sheedy Caron of Naugatuck, Tricia J. Caron of Southington; his grandchildren, Dakota and Trista Caron whom he cherished; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Raymond Caron.
His funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 16 at 9:15 a.m. from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St. Naugatuck to St. Vincent Ferrer Church for a mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. Members of the Naugatuck Veteran’s Council will meet at the funeral home at 6:30 p.m. Members of the Elks will conduct a ritual at 6:45 p.m.
