ANSONIA – Robert A. Froliger, age 63 of Ansonia, died January 15, 2011 in his home following a brief illness. Born in Derby on August 28, 1947 he was the son of the late Herman Froliger and Mary Baranowsky Froliger of Seymour. Mr. Froliger was a lifelong Ansonia resident and U.S. Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked as a meat cutter for several area grocery stores, retiring from BJ’s of Derby.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Mary Markey and her husband, Francis of Naugatuck and a son Eric Froliger and his wife, Jackie of Naugatuck; a brother, Herman Froliger and his wife, Carol of Milford; as well as 10 grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Joann Plourde.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at 6:00 PM in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia. Private interment with military honors will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.
