NAUGATUCK — Richard J. “Dick” Landry, 86, died peacefully on April 3, 2020, surrounded by his loving family.
Dick was born on Oct. 28, 1933, in Wallagrass, Maine, a son of the late Conrad J. and Celina M. Landry, and had lived in Naugatuck and Oakville for most of his life. He was a proud U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict, a lifetime member of the VFW in Oakville, and he enjoyed visiting with his family and playing cards. Dick worked at Truelove and Maclean in Waterbury and Iseli Swiss Screw Machine Shop in Terryville, where he retired after 33 years.
Dick is survived by his daughter, Cheri Marshall and her husband, Robert; his son, Richard “Ricky” Landry and his wife, Livia; his grandchildren, Steven, Sebastian, Anthony and Harry; his sisters, Frances O’Connor and Eleanor Landry and her companion, Richard DiFrederico; his sister-in-law, Lucy Landry; his brothers, George Landry, James Landry, Randolph Landry; and his lifelong friend, Edward; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and his best friend of 37 years, Tony Dimecco. In addition to his parents, Dick was predeceased by his brothers, Lawrence Landry and Gilbert Landry; his brother-in-Law, Richard O’Connor; and his sister, Jeannine Labrecque.
Dick’s family would like to thank all of the staff of Masonicare for the excellent care that they provided.
Services will be private, and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at a later date. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery. There are no calling hours, and arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck.
