Obit-CandleLAS VEGAS, Nev. — Richard D. Wozniak, 62, of Las Vegas, Nev., formerly of Seymour, died Nov. 9, 2012 in Las Vegas. Born in Derby on September 22, 1950 he was the son of the late Martin D. Wozniak and Adele Schmecker Wozniak.

Mr. Wozniak was a longtime Seymour resident and graduate of Seymour High School. A member of Three Saints Orthodox Church, Ansonia, Mr. Wozniak worked as a manager and key set-up man for many machine shops including Ansonia Manufacturing. He was responsible for starting operations in upstate New York and in Mexico. He was an avid sports fan, a loyal fan of the N.Y. Yankees, and was a passionate collector of model cars. His love of the beach drew him to the west coast. He enjoyed the ocean, photography, music, and playing the guitar.

He is survived by two daughters, Natalie and Daniella Wozniak both of California; a sister, Adele Koval of Naugatuck; a brother, Matthew (Lynne) Wozniak of Seymour; a niece, Debra Koval; three nephews: Richard, Michael and Robert Koval; as well as many cousins.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, April 6, 2013, at 11:30 a.m. in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia. Interment will follow in Three Saints Cemetery, Seymour. Family and friends may call on Saturday morning from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
