NAUGATUCK — Rebecca Borges, 58, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 12, 2021.

Born in Waterbury on Sept. 29, 1962, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Olga (Spann-Knapp) Borges. Rebecca was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother.

She was very active in her family and community life. From being a troop leader for her daughter’s Daisies and Brownies, to helping build the library at Andrew Avenue School. She was very artistic and loved to crochet and needlepoint. She enjoyed baking and spending time in the garden. Another passion was reading, she also wrote and published a book of poetry.

Rebecca leaves her son, Joseph Longo and wife, Audrey; her daughter, Sarah Stronkowsky and son-in-law, Matthew Demers; her daughter, Jennifer Stronkowsky and her fur baby, LuLu; her grandchildren, Ashton Stronkowsky, Madison, Camdon, Gracelyn, Evalynn and Autumn Stronkowsky-Demers, Sophia and Olivia Longo; her sisters, Elsa Borges Ward, Catherine Borges and Noreen Benjamin; her extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her brother, George Borges; and her sister, Anna Borges Ricciuti.

She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
