Obituary: Raymond J. “Joe” Arnold Jr.

PROPSECT — Mr. Raymond J. “Joe” Arnold, Jr., 61, of Matthew St., died Friday, May 20, at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was the husband of Kathryn (Frederick) Arnold.

Mr. Arnold was born in Waterbury on Aug. 23, 1949 son of Raymond and Edith Arnold of Morris, New York. He was retired as an assembler from Thule Inc. in Seymour. He was a family man, devoted to his family and friends and gave freely and generously of himself. His hobbies included his tractors, spray painting, tinkering in the yard, and making things for others.

Besides his wife and parents, Mr. Arnold is survived by a sister: Edith McFarlin and her husband Dennis of Naugatuck, a sister in law: Nora Frederick of Prospect, his very close nephew: Daniel McFarlin and his wife Catherine and their children: Aidan, Brendan, Dane and Danielle, who gave him many hours of enjoyment and laughter, several other nieces and nephews, his beloved dog: Mischa and many good and generous friends.

He was predeceased by a sister: Jean Chapman.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 25, at 11 a.m. from the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 26 Waterbury Road, Route 69, Prospect to Prospect Cemetery for graveside services and burial at 11:30 a.m. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 25, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
