NAUGATUCK — Raul Marleno de Sousa Lima, 82, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2021, at Hartford Hospital.
Born in Brazil on Aug. 21, 1939, he was the son of the late Manuel and Maria De Nazare (De Sousa) Lima. Raul was a Naugatuck resident for over 50 years and had worked in construction with the Connecticut Laborer’s Union until his retirement. He was a simple, giving man who loved his family and being around people. He enjoyed all sports, especially soccer.
Raul leaves his family: his former wife, Rita de Cassia Juliasse Oliveira Lima; his sons, Ralph Lima of Florida and Raul Lima II of Naugatuck; his daughter, Rebecca Juliasse Lima of Naugatuck; his four grandchildren, Ryan, Gabriel and Jordan Lima, and Ayden J. Lima Peck; and many siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 2071 Baldwin St., Waterbury. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck.
