Ralph A. Boiano Jr.

NAUGATUCK — Mr. Ralph A. Boiano, Jr., 93, of Naugatuck, formerly of Bridgeport, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012 at Danbury Hospital. He was the widower of Lorraine (Leonetti) Boiano.

Mr. Boiano was born in Bridgeport on Jan. 25, 1919, a son of the late Ralph Boiano Sr. and Mary Boiano. He was a longtime Bridgeport resident before moving to Naugatuck. He retired after 28 years of service from the U.S. Post Office in Bridgeport where he worked as a postal clerk. He was an Army veteran serving his country during World War II. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather.

He leaves his daughters, Nancy Blanchard and her husband David of Danbury, Cheryl Mielniczek and her husband Chester of Naugatuck; a brother, John Boiano of Bridgeport; grandchildren, Scott Blanchard, Alicia Mielniczek, Jessica Ives and her husband John; a great-grandson, Jayden Michael Ives; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Boiano.

The family would like to thank the entire staff of Masonicare at Newtown for the exceptional care given to Ralph over the years.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. from the
Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church St., Naugatuck for a mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
