OXFORD — Peter Mezger, 72, of Oxford, the beloved husband of Beatriz Cisneros Mezger, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013 at his home with his loving family by his side.

Peter was born in Stuttgart, Germany, on Dec. 12, 1941, the son of the late Adolf and Helene Dadler Mezger. Peter came from Germany on the SS United States in 1959 and resided in Queens, N.Y., until 1972 when he settled in Oxford. He was a machinist by trade and a ham radio operator by hobby. Peter was an avid reader, loved anything to do planes, specially WWII planes like the P-51 Mustang, Steam Trains and War Ships. A world traveler, who enjoyed taking long drives and spending time with his family and friends eating, drinking and laughing. He will be sadly missed and forever in our hearts.

His loving family includes a caring son, four devoted daughters, Tanya Carver and her husband Edward of Oxford, Lisa Bochicchio and her husband, Tony of Brewster, N.Y., Heidi Larke and her husband Eric of Shelton and Helen Perez and her husband Israel of Oxford; 10 cherished grandchildren; a new grandchild on the way, and one loving great-grandchild.

A mass of Christian burial was celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. The Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank St., Seymour, (opposite Klarides Village) is caring for the family.
