Peggy was born May 29, 1945 in Port Chester, N.Y., daughter of the late Estelle (Bender) Skorvanek and Joseph Skorvanek Sr. She was a resident of Waterbury for many years before moving to Naugatuck. She worked for many years in various businesses, but her life’s focus was being a loving, caring, nurturing mom, grandma and friend. She loved to cook, garden, walk the beach, float in her pool, but most importantly talk with those she loved; she always had an open ear, a loving heart, and kind and gentle words to offer.

She is survived by her children, James and Jessica Hayes Jr., Timothy Hayes, Sandra Gomulinski, Lisa Gomulinski and Brett Littlejohn, all of Naugatuck; Kelly and Phil Alberto of West Haven; grandchildren, AmberRose and Jocelyn Alberto, Kaitlyn Hayes, Matthew and Meghan Gomulinski, Charlesse Jenkins, Brandy Garofalo, David Greene, Jeremiah Brown, Jack and Kirsten Reardon; great-grandchild, Mason Brown; siblings Joseph and Cindy Skorvanek, Shirley Rzewuski and Beverly Skorvanek, as well as many nieces, a nephew and great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sons-in-law, Mark and Jason Gomulinski; and a grandson, Philip Patrick Alberto.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 20, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. in St. Hedwig’s Church in Naugatuck. Burial will be held privately. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Naugatuck Valley Memorial Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck, CT 06770.
