Pauline L. (Freeman) Scott 87, formerly of Naugatuck, passed away on Friday, Jan. 24, 2014 at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was the widow of Gerald Scott who passed away in 2006.

Born in Eagle Lake, Maine on Oct. 30, 1926, daughter of the late Patrick and Edith (Bouchard) Freeman, she was a graduate from the University of Fort Kent, Maine in 1945 and went on to be a school teacher in Eagle Lake until relocating to Connecticut in 1951. Pauline had several other jobs during her life time, and retired from Southbury Training School in 1989, but the titles she loved the most were mother and grandma! She was honored as “Mother of the Year” in 1995 by the Local FOE. She loved gardening, playing Scrabble, and her long summer trips to The Camp, in Maine. She was a Communicant of St Vincent’s Church.

Pauline is survived by six of her seven children, Daniel Scott, Barbara Scott, Alison Scott Lang, and her husband Jack, all of Naugatuck, Charles Scott and his wife Janet of Colchester, Phillip Scott and wife Char of Cabool, Miss., Morton Scott and wife Jackie of Mc Kinleyville, Calif. Pauline was predeceased by her youngest son Freeman Scott; her brothers, Libby, Patrick, and Paul Freeman; her sisters, Alice Errichetto, Janet Freeman, Mercedes Gagnon, Winnie Levasser. Pauline also leaves 18 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014 at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent Ferrer Church, 1006 New Haven Road, Naugatuck. The Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
